I’m not sure I’ve ever shared pictures of my setup. I think this is partially because it’s been relatively ever-evolving, and usually in a messy space.

My wife and I welcomed a little one into the world earlier this year. As is expected, this has come with compromises.

One is that I’ve had less time for music, so I’ve spent more time just following the whim of fun & fancy. Another is that I’ve had less space. So here you may or not be able to tell are my sound making machines in my dining room. (This is impermanent; we are house-hunting as we speak, but in a different city, so it’s slow going).

But! I’m having more fun than ever making music right now, so despite the fact that 1- the setup is still evolving, I’m sure, and 2- it’s in my dining room, not some lovely, amazing music making studio in my mind, I’m going to share anyway

So I’m a Vim user by day, so the arrow placement felt more natural to me than it does on “normal” keyboards.

Getting used to having to press the Fn key took probably an evening or two.

More 3d-printing fun. I made a (much more) ergonomic holder for my lapel mic, and mounted the Dicer on the snare as well. Really putting the 3d printer to use!

Also got inspired by the Doublestop Rocker (video not great musically) to have the crossfader act as a panner between two sources. In this case the live/distorted microphone and then a pool of samples that is being queried using audio descriptors from the snare mic, which is then delayed by around 1sec and run into a dirty wavefolder:

Looks neat! Do you use the Harmonaig with the grid/Kria, or do you tend to just use one or the other?

Thanks! I just got the Harmonaig so have been focusing on learning that, it’s very nice indeed. But I want to find a way to sequence Harmonaig chords with one track in Kria and use it all in unison. Just need to spend some time and get a system in place.

I originally bought it yeeeears ago, before I could afford a DPA (4060), and because it was so cheap I didn’t feel bad banging it around, which led me to this playing technique(s).

I’ve thought about getting one of the Usi mics, but I’ve gotten so used to to the Naiant, that I’d have a hard time adapting.
