Gonna need some #hottakes on DPO vs Furtherr Generator!

Ha. My hot take is that these days I definitely favor the Furthrrr both in sound and features, but the DPO is quite an old module, definitely due for an MK2 in my opinion. The amount of stuff you can do really easily and quickly with the Furthrr is so great. Having ring mod instantly without another module available is awesome. Being able to choose the modulator wave is great, and especially great is being able to choose noise/sample+hold as the modulator. Build quality is also rock solid and everything is well spaced, it’s just fun to use. Having a sawtooth wave on both oscillators is a huge plus for me as well.

Would love to see that. Curious if you use the digital carrier oscillator?

I guess there’s a more appropriate thread for me to go read about this though…

I was wondering about that too!! There’s a good comparison thread on Muffwiggler between the DPO, Furtherr Generator & Intellijel Rubicon/Dixie/uFold. I have the DPO & Intellijel combo but find myself leaning towards the DPO as a complex osc.

At this point I’ve had all three of those setups, and they are all good in their own special way. My final choice was the DPO, mostly because the immediacy and workflow worked best for me. Ideally I’d have all three, but alas that is too much for one mortal to handle.

I think a DPO in a Shared System is the best of all worlds. I didn’t quite gel with the Shuttle System, but the Furrtthhrrrr was the best part.

This is amazing. What modules are you using?

It’s mainly the ER-301 Sound computer with some Mannequins (Mangrove and 3 Sisters). The other modules are utilitarian. Shuttle control for external MIDI control, some 1U Intellijel, MI Stages for lfo’s and envelopes, it switch them around depending on my needs.

Maybe we should also link a track that we make with our sound-making machines in context?

What’s the unit in front of the Squarp?

Analogue Solutions Generator - CV sequencer, I have been sending it into the Pyramid and using it to modify sequences and be quantized.

Thank you, that’s the noise from the Fusebox, it’s so atmospheric going through the filter.

Here’s my little setup I’ve brought to our October vacation in the country. I’m enjoying experimenting with variations in my usual workflow induced by the trimmed down setup and divergence from my usual multi-EastCoast voicing. Rather inspired by the beautiful Shropshire Autumn.
