Ah you must be eager to get the madrona soundplane upcoming module! (or is it there already? Couldn’t spot it!)

Ive written code for the Bela Salt to generate CV from the Soundplane,
so already ‘computer free’ and its a lot of fun - in this setup, I have the Soundplane split, left half driving Elements, right side driving AE modular

that said, will still be excited when @randy releases the Soundplane module, I’ll likely get it to free up the Salt for other duties!

how do you like the soundplane? is that the correct term for that?

I like the soundplane a lot, hard to describe why, as quite personal,

to me, it feels and looks like an instrument… rather than a ‘lifeless’ controller.

why? because the response of its surface is not ‘neutral’, so it has a character to it.

so, imho, its not a generic controller. honestly, at first I was frustrated by this, as its not great for playing some types of sounds / instruments (e.g. piano ).
but, as time past, and I played it more, I grew to love and appreciate it, by creating sounds that are sympathetic to its ‘character’, and so made it feel natural.

I guess we are used to midi controllers being generic, suited to everything.
but thats not how acoustic instruments are… their physical interface is part of their character / nature / sound. so now(!), it seems natural to me that different controllers could be specialised for different types of sounds too.

of course, I recognise, I’m fortunate. to others controllers and keyboards that I can use, so I can use those to compliment the soundplane.

Sometimes you need an afternoon of the effortless combo of marbles into rings into clouds with perfect northern low angle sun beaming through the window

So cool! Unfortunately most of the bands are a shadow of what they once were. There’s still a wicked bunch of weird noises out there.

What case is that???

Home made, more details over in the cases thread:

Latest addition to the collection. I’m so in love with this machine. It’s practically flawless, and sounds divine.

What’s that black module, bottom right? Something Verbos?

It’s just a DIY Plaits with Rogan knobs!
