That looks like a lot of fun. What’s the guitar?

Not my guitar. I don’t know about guitars, couldn’t tell you

I bought myself a monome. My very first. I know nothing about it. In fact, I know nothing about music…

I got it all installed and working yesterday and today I sat down to play with it for fifteen minutes.

When I looked up it was three hours later…

I think I am going to enjoy this.

I’ve not been able to have my music stuff setup for the last couple of years.
Now I have space again and took two days off work to organise and wire. So many wires!
Everything is connected, now to test

I must say that pictures of the BACK of rack equipment are a whole different kind of nerdiness…

True!

After the best part of two days wiring things together it was what stuck in my mind.

Don’t spend a lot of time taking pictures of my gear, but took a breather to document my happy place yesterday. My OP1, Analog Four, Dark Energy, and outboard rack of effects aren’t pictured, but I haven’t been using those much lately and I don’t really have the space to just leave all that stuff out when I’m not using them.

Zeroscillator in MOTM - can’t be too many of those around.
Looks like there’s some DIY/custom stuff in the top row of the picture? Is that a Blacet time machine? Hard to make out the writing.

Some minor mods but most of the modules are stock, built from kits. The 2 ZOs are original MK1s with a stack of PCBs behind the panel almost as deep as the faceplate is wide! Blacet Time Machine and Stonz Phaser are in there…

tonight: a live ambient performance in one take.

i decided to combine my monome and modular with synthesizer and field recordings. the monome is running mlrv (filled with a rhodes loop i recorded immediately prior to this session) rewired to ableton, which is also providing the birdsounds i recorded awhile back. the synth pads are going through mutable instruments clouds, modulated by tides, and then into additional reverb from a strymon bluesky.

it sounds like this:
