What is the case on the right side of your piano?

What kind of case is that?

You’re using MIDI or something else to sequence?

What kind of case is that? Dope

this has been my live setup lately. i feel i’m done tweaking it. beyond the actual gear, a big revelation happened recently that has really made me happy in my approach to live shows. for a long time i had been trying to incorporate my favorite eurorack voices ( mangroves, just friends ) in an a lofi beat / ambient / improvised / live remix setting. after a couple years of messing around i realized that dialing in a tone, improvising a sequence then live sampling it all on the spot was becoming too cumbersome for me maybe not the funnest thing to perform. then i had my revelation. instead of dialing in the tone / sequence live, i could pre-record long takes of me comfortably in the the “sweet spot” and load those long takes ( a few minutes at least, post processed in my daw ) in to my octatrack and morphagene. i could then just sample mangle live. the way it’s worked for me is i have my song broken down in to stems in the octatrack, a track or two loaded up with these long takes ( usually about 7 minutes in the octatrack ) then a track live sampling my ipad and modular ( running samplr / borderland / audulus ). with this setup, i feel like i can concentrate on the fun stuff ( sample mangling and using modulation to create new sequences etc ) without getting boring or lacking variety. anyway hope my ramblings help others in their own journey somehow.

and here is a “setting” shot of a live stream i did today with this setup. my partner and i jammed. she was performing some beautiful live coded visuals.

lots of very solid material and transitions in that set !

very much seeking a similar combo of preparation and improvisation in a live set

I’m not using anything to sequence at the moment, I’ve set this up as an atmospherics machine. But I could use an sq10, or norns with an external copal (it’s too deep, but it’s passive). Too bad that crow is too deep, it would have been fantastic.

why not sell the pod, get a palette and pop a crow into the remaining 2 hp? also there’s a trs- midi jack for i2c if you ever want to control the er-301 externally …

clever maneuvering with that mm midi in the 1u slot…did you build a custom brace for it?

It’s a custom 7U 65hp by Grau Modular, who have sadly gone silent since. A very good form factor for me, just perfect for a self contained instrument. I used to have way too many cases and hp of eurorack. Now I’ve just got those two and a box of modules. It’s a nice puzzle and process to build and face the limitations of a small independent instrument like that.

Built a little ring modulator with IC socket for the diodes so I can try out some different ones. So far haven’t found any dramatic difference in sound tho so might just hardwire these nice looking vintage ones at some point

EDIT: I did hardwire them  Found the parts for another ring mod with what looks like 4 matching germanium diodes so gonna build that too but with attenuators on both input. I’ve found with passive ringmods you need quite loud signal and carrier (not a problem with eurorack) plus the relative levels of them change the effect quite a lot

Deerhorn Organ. It sounds as beautiful as it looks.

@sellanraa @Noisetrees - thank you for your responses. Yeah, it seems more and more difficult to find cases outside the standard 104hp/row. I love these smaller solutions. It’s too bad Grau went out of biz . I love that size.

its actually a little adapter i found on reverb. it can fit 4hp in 1u.

4hp for intellijel or 6hp for pulp logic. I use one in pulp logic format.
