I thought at first that the hook holding the spring was punched through the contact mic. Is it touching just barely making, uh, contact with it?

Ya exactly. The mic fit just snuggly in the hook so that it touches the piezo. Lucky accident.

Hey, great looking setup, can’t wait to get a piano in my space. What is the rackmount mixer on top of the piano?

Rack mixer is a Mackie LM3204 - 16 line inputs with a pair of mic preamps with phantom that you patch into line inputs to use… 4 Aux sends & returns…

Looks great! Thanks for the info!

Really dig that set up! Is the stand for the CL sturdy enough to handle them while patching heavily too?

Continuing detail work on my wine box modular case after a long hiatus. A couple months ago I came across one of those old space craft art books on the free table at my office. Somebody’s dog had chewed a good bit of it up, but it looked like the right size for a lid liner so I took it home and took apart the binding. Picked out one of the paintings that looked good with the case and used that to line the inside instead of the stickers I was covering it with before.

Now all I need to do is replace the hinges with some detachable ones and add a second set of feet to the main body of the case so it can stand upright without the lid.

Oh, that’s from Spacecraft: 2100 to 2200 A.D. isn’t it? I wonder if I still have that book around somewhere, and Tour of the Universe.

Haha, it is! I really wanted to use the one, I think it’s called the Wasp or something but I can’t find the rest of the pages right now, but it looks like it has an oscilloscope for the front window. The colors clashed with the rest of the case though so I’ll probably just put that one on my wall or something. It’s a fun book, I remember looking through it many times at the library when I was in elementary school.

EDIT: This is the one I was talking about. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Ca4UF58IwLA/TmgeGWaEYaI/AAAAAAAAHJk/bgdrLPJ3ds4/s1600/68-PVTMRailbus.jpg

I wanted to share my system for a long time but now it was time I think since the system is almost finished. The design/choice of components of this system took a lot of time (almost 2.5 years) and it was a great trip! But it’s time to focus on it as a unique instrument and start practising the possibilities. My goal is to master the endless possibilities of modular. Can it be done? I’m still young, why not?

I’ve been building stuff for my own modular format on and off for a while, but recently started experimenting with building a solar powered system. This system is exclusively passive or solar powered modules. I’m currently working on a sequencer and a stand alone power module using super capacitors, so that I can build modules to use solar power or DC.

It’s really helping me learn more about DC, power storage, forward voltage drops, capacitors and a ton of other stuff.

The current version includes;

AM Radio
LPG
4093 Cascaded Oscillator
Clock Module with Clocks, Dividers and up to 10 steps trigger sequencer
6 x Square Wave Oscillator Bank

Very olde bend re-fixed. REmoved a needless and crackly volume pot, increased pitch pot range, added momentary off button for incrementing the loop switch, oh and redid the rubber stamps  These are such a cirucuitbending cliche/staple that I avoided using it for years, but it’s time to get back into it  lots more bends I could add these days but I’m leaving well enough alone for now
