Can the matrix mixer handle eurorack levels?

Can the matrix mixer handle eurorack levels?

No idea! I don’t do modular (yet ) so I don’t know enough to answer your question. It’s a passive mixer…I know that much.

Anyone?

Passive mixers should handle hot signals just fine.

Thanks for that!

Here’s this week’s set-up.

Love my Sony TCM-400s: easy to find on YahooAuctions here in Japan, two speeds with a pitch-wheel running through an ElectoLobotomy passive cut-up mixer.
The players are loaded up with handmade loops, cut-up field recording pause tapes on C-10s and other sources: a beat up ¥200/$2 mic dragged through the cutlery drawer, walking through a haunted funhouse, etc.

This is more of a noise rig, but I also love doing long-form field recording (raw or granular synth’ed & dumped to tape) mixes swapping the distortion with a Ditto X2 looper. This is the backbone of what I hope to be a future release, and as a live set-up for when things settle down and we can return to playing out again.

I broke out one of my old turntables, and my old Pioneer dj mixer this week. Hello, old friends.

I have a couple of those sony’s too, they are my FAVOURITE! Many years ago did sound/field collages with them, more recently they get directly interfaced with eurorack. Also, recording vocals and pitching it live during playback is true splendour. Set up looks so fun!

Do you have any recordings using this setup? I’ve used something similar in the past and it was really fun.

I have a bunch of stuff recorded; too much, perhaps. Home studio rule number 1: record everything! I’m in the editing process right now. Stay tuned.

Curious if/how you’re using the double knot in your setup? I’m having a converter box made to be able to send stuff to and from eurorack, but it’s such a fun synth on its own.

As promised: thanks for asking.

A quick-and-dirty edit. This one is on the less-noisy distortion-free side. I was trying to give form to a childhood memory: Manitoba marshlands in late winter/early spring.

Thanks for posting! I particularly enjoyed the buzzing and chattering sounds, which sounded like insects flitting around the stereo field.

That pitch control is good fun, I sometimes entertain the idea of going full nerd and seeing if I can beat-match with them. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Edit: That reminds me-

Haha, that’s the first time I’ve heard Vim mentioned in a musical context!

I’ve never heard of tidal cycles, sounds interesting… I’ve been fascinated by Haskell for a while, only dabbled in it now and again!

You should put an x220 keyboard in there, it’s an easy mod and so much nicer to type on!
