new sound machine in progress … almost complete Nava 909 clone. All working except the snare and high tom, which still don’t sound right. trouble shooting those circuits is definitely pushing past my electronics knowledge, but i’ll get there

I love the drawings. Fantastic

Thanks! I’ll pass it on to the kids. They decorated the blank for me. Also just noticed the poster up behind. 5 year old has started drawing modular bits, drums and keyboards. :grinning:

Nothing special just yet, but I’ve got a uPlaits and an output module on the way! Haven’t had a ton of time to play since I’ve just packed up my entire apartment to move to Philly, but once I’m settled it’s turning into this.
Jury’s out on if the 2hp space should be crow or a 2hp Verb.

ahh they are just USB lights. I like to play/work with all the lights off in my studio.

I just finished my 48 hp groovebox. It’s a lot of fun. I like to hook it up to my other gear as master midi clock and make odd clock shifts. Whacky stuff.

I have no clue what the thing on the left is but my first thought was “Rad, they’re sampling their alarm clock!”

That looks to be a Bose SoundLink Mini. I have one… Fairly good Bluetooth speaker with an aux in, so useful for small portable setups.

Nice rebolo. I haven’t seen a wood one before. Wood instead of metal probably gives a less resonant tone, I would guess.

That’s interesting, I just got that drum and had not thought of playing it rebolo style. I tried it and well it’s a bit heavy to put on the leg and both the head and shell are too thick for the traditional rebolo sounds. I think the maker intended it to be more like a Jamaican funde with conga style hardware. Here is a video of him playing it:

Always wanted the Lastgasp Art Laboratories ‘Rattle Crow’ but could never justify buying, accidentally found a stripboard layout the other week so I built my own. Transistor and diodes are different so no idea if it sounds the same but it does do horrible harsh filter stuff. Added an input attenuator since the level of the input makes a drastic difference to the sound/sensitivity

Bad plastic junction box housing I might replace some time, bit too bendy

I’m addicted to portable instrument.
This is my current easy-travelling gear for live sets.
