That’s beautiful, is it being made custom for you?

I’ve been dreaming of a 12 string and green is my favorite color :sunglasses::heart::heart::heart:

Yes. It’s on its way! I’ve also been dreaming on an electric 12-string. When I saw and heard this earlier this summer, the dream became reality.

Apparently, this is the second one Joe has made. The other one belongs to Dean Wareham (Galaxie 500, Luna, Dean & Britta). Dean played it in an at-home concert this summer. That one is featured on Joe’s website. (Edit: Now mine is.)

Looks like a watermelon! You should get a pick guard made to look like the inside of the melon.

Absolutely love that thing. You probably already knew, but just in case & for others, there’s a great custom firmware that adds a ton of new features (Most of all polyphonic play over midi which can even make it great for pads)

Two controllers I made over the last few weeks:

JamLoopy Ctrl, a controller for use with the Atari 2600 music app JamLoopy. JamLoopy is normally controlled with a joystick and an Atari keyboard controller. I basically just integrated the two circuits in one PCB and added mechanical keyboard switches for better playability.

And, based on the same design, Synthcart Ctrl, a controller for the Atari 2600 Synthcart (normally controlled with two keyboard controllers).

SUPER COOL!!!
i’m an absolute nut about 2600 noiz!
(i use it quite a bit in my productions)

will you make any more of those controllers?

also…super awesome ROM that i didn’t know about!
i hope they update it for NTSC soon!

Thanks!

Currently I’m not planning to make more of those myself, but I’ve documented the build on GitHub. Happy to help, if there are any questions!

JamLoopy is a blast! You can make some wonderful noise with it!

Awesome! Anything you could share? Would love to hear it! I love the raw, untamed 2600 sound!

Hi All,
Been lurking in the shadows for a while but thought I’d post my sound-making machine (for now).
She’s an ever evolving beast but I’m sure you’re all familiar with that

I’d love to get ansible and Grid down the track to steer it but alas they are elusive.
Gotta say, this forum has been so valuable to my education and you all seem wonderful!
Thanks,
Adam

dang…
well…i’m like a drunk with a soldering iron when it comes to building things.
:stuck_out_tongue:
hence…i tend not to build things if i want them to actually work.
HAH!

anyhow…
YEAH!!!
regarding ATARI noiz…
i had my 15 seconds of fame a very long time ago(back in 2002) when i rack mounted my 2600 and created the noizSPIKE-2600/r.
i use a combination of carts to generate the noiz and use joysticks, trackballs and an ATARI MIDI2600 interface for controllers.

here’s a pic of the noizSPIKE-2600/r:

and here’s an old performance using a portable Atari 2600 that was custom built for me…i’m using the trackballs in this one:

These look incredible! I’d never thought of custom console controls like this, great idea.

Jamloopy looks fun! I don’t have an atari but will give it a go on an emulator on the Nintendo DS or something

@mode.analogue built a 16n for me(thanks!). Great build. Matching plywood panels to my fates and neotrellis grid. Using it mainly for octatrack, norns and CV pedals. Great piece of gear.

What’s your go-between to get to the octatrack?

Minijack to DIN adaptor.

I built a little passive LPG box(x8) today!

  • Yellow = Ins
  • Grey = CV In
  • Purple = Outs

edit: prolly should have taken a guts shot, but the wiring is nuts in there. here’s a shot of the proto-board inside, instead.
