Tempi is worth it. Not that deep if you don’t need it to be. I started with a tan case Shared System circa 2013 before the CV bus and black faceplates. Then put it all in a 9u case and added to it.

My use of tempi is entirely in the manual mode. I love being able to set a number of unrelated time divisions!

Third iteration of this idea. Gradually bigger case but I think bumping from 60 to 78 was worth it for internal multing and ergonomics.

This is one of the nicest setups I’ve seen here :flushed: What do you use for sequencing this? Also how do you like the knob farm modules? I’ve been eying the hyrlo

I just got Hyrlo and Ferry.

They sound great and seem to be built like tanks.

The ability to send modular audio out to my iPad through an audio interface and bring it back in stereo AND for that stereo input to be routed with jumper wires on the back as a fourth input to Hyrlo is brilliant!

My only possible issue is that the knobs on Hyrlo are pretty tightly spaced so you’re not going to be very performative with them unless you have small hands…

I’m considering replacing them with smaller diameter knobs but am still trying to decide.

Everything is internal and I integrate the MOOD, El Cap, and Dark World pedals for more processing. So for sequencing it’s pretty loose and chaotic - it’s sort of my musique concrète / can I do Parmegiani/Bayle sorts of things in a case so yeah, not very fine tuned in some ways. So sequencing is done by the Sport Modulators, Samara, Warnas, Spock/FlipFlop and the Maths. I can use the Walk in different ways, but generally have coupled it with Spock if I want more expressive control of the trigs/gates or to play the W/ after pushing the voltage through the CVPs.

Oh yeah, I dig the KnobFarm stuff for sure. Wish they were silver, but I can’t bother with that fashion shit, so function > form any day of the week.

I can highly recommend Grayscale panels:

EDIT : Scratch that. Seems like there’s no black versions of the modules you’re chasing, though I didn’t do an exhaustive check.

swap the phonogene for morphagene and don’t worry about black panels :]

Enjoy! I slowly built my Shared System over the course of a long period of time too. I also have a split black/silver, but have a Morphagene/Tempi (still Rene mk1).

It’s such an inspiring instrument to me, I’ve never been more productive or happy with the music I’m making. Looking forward to hearing what you do with it!

The ‘blackscale’ panels are just as rare haha!

I am a huge fan of Make Noise’s panel design - you can see the influence of Francis Picabia coming through, especially in the early modules like QMMQ, Phonogene and Wiard Wogglebug.

It’s my only system (except for a couple of drum machines and a DX7 in the cupboard) and I’m hoping to dedicate my music practice to just this system for one year. I’ve already released one record with it and have 3 in the pipeline

Great to hear other people are having similar experiences with these!

for those who want to try etching, the case for CB pedals is probably Hammond 1590N1

Love these things. I built a performance console using 5 of them.

I love this! Do you have any audio/video of the cabinet in action?

Funny you should ask…just took delivery of a GoPro. Stay tuned! Appreciate the kind reply.

My most recent hardware assembly - makes a nice sound when the lid is put on or taken off. I am not completely sure where this will develop, let’s see…

Fun fact - some Chase Bliss pedals can be battery powered but not Blooper. The space of 9V compartment is reserved for the momentary switches of modifiers.

This looks great! Is it one of those 40×30cm crates that can be found for £10 online? Are you using softwood battens instead of rails?

Are you planning to do an etched finish on yours?
