That thing must sound INSANE with Barcodes

It’s really fun, here’s how it sounds through MLR Säckpipa and Monome Norns MLR (Ljugaren, Steklåt från Särna) - YouTube

What’s the device with the teensy and the mechanical keyswitches?

Looks like some digdugDIY design. Tamagotchi Paradise XL maybs?:egg:

Yes that’s it. MIDI pattern recorder. Plays nice with the microgranny.

Just swapped the original buttons in my 40h. They had a good run.

Here’s a picture of this morning’s little jam session with my Gotharman Urano modular synth and a small Eurorack expansion box. Somehow I managed to set up the lights quite nicely this time  Happy Sunday!

Came to the realization this morning that I’ve had a more or less stable setup for months now. I need a better desk (which is technically an instrument thanks to the contact mic  ) but otherwise am currently content in this sonic universe. To be honest, I think it was the Teletype that really tied the room together.

I couldn’t be happier with Urano. It’s a truly exceptional companion for a Eurorack system, a thing of wonder and magic and joy. For me the absolute icing on the cake (and numerous candidates were available for that position) is that it can load MIDI program changes with presets (although the LD3 can do it as well). This completely trivialises saving and loading states on Mungo modules, and I tell you that has changed my life.

Oh, that’s good to know. I’ve never experimented with MIDI Program Changes. The Urano is fantastic indeed. Such a wonderful desert island synth! I honestly didn’t really feel the need to expand it with that small Eurorack case, but it was just so tempting to use those patch sockets and I caved in

I would hardly have given program change a thought were it not the key to Mungo presets. Thus Urano presets can be presets also for a bunch of module parameters too.

Edit: to illustrate, this is very crude video of me doing it with LD3; all sounds from Mungo.

Although it certainly is viable as a standalone synth, such a well-thought-out interface deserves to be put to use! I’ve been enjoying sending stuff through e.g. NLC delays for some crunchy, dusty pt2399 stuff otherwise missing from the Gotharman sound. But yeah, I’m really very impressed with what Urano is capable of by itself.

Are pics of light making machines allowed?

I’ve built this custom network pixel LED driver and DMX I/O interface with power outputs in a 2U 19” enclosure. Used to move pixel bars in response to my music, and to move synths in response to the pixels.
