button boxes are just repurposed usb game controller pads with bigger buttons - I’m not using them live anymore since I started taking my microbrute out with me- Don’t know what to do with them now, so they’re just sat there along with the launchpads that were superseded by the monome and the APC.

I thought it was a very clever commentary on how insular and self referential our little clique is… but obviously a lot of people didn’t like it otherwise he wouldn’t have pulled the plug on it.

It could have been Dudes with MPCs and New Era Caps, or Dudes with Messy Hair and Baby Taylors, or Dudes with Ironic Moustaches and MicroKorgs - He just happened to pick on our clique and not one of those.

And what exactly was the “commentary”? It’s so stupefyingly shallow and superficial, that it’s hard for me to see this kind of thinking as anything different from a grade-school fart joke. It’s one thing when kids are laughing, but another when an adult thinks this is clever…
Anyway, clearly I was not finding that funny or “insightful” on any level, but am sure there were others who enjoyed it. Such is life.
Oh, and I like to think that I am not part of any “clique” either. Does the beard make one part of the clique or the modular, or does one have to have both?
