I got to lay hands on an in-store demo of the Mordax, as well as the new O'Tool. They are both very cool. The Mordax is probably better value dollar-per-feature, but the O'Tool was available to buy and the Mordax won't be until spring next year, and I wanted to see stuff, so I bought an O'Tool.
Once I had it installed, and started using it, I was glad I got the unit that's half the size, as I had this slightly unsettling realization that I didn't really need it. It's fun, and cool, but seeing waveforms--especially JF and Mangrove waveforms--didn't end up being quite the mind-expander I hoped it would be. I mean, it basically just showed me what I more or less already knew was there. I can't imagine I'd be any more pleased taking up twice the real estate for essentially the same purpose.
But that Mordax sure is handsome, even if the name makes me think of 60s c-movie vampires or something.
