Yeah, first three pixels were allocated to the first DT voice with different root keys, and the last three to a single DT voice each.

finally catching up on things…
i ran Pixels through the ringer last night and it really held up!
(it was running on both norns for well over an hour)
:stuck_out_tongue:
this is my first transmission with it…
two norns running Pixels and a third running OOOOOO.
also a Solar 50 and a NAVA Extra 9 thrown in.

thank you @distropolis for such an awesome script!

Pixels 1.3 is released!

Drawing Mode!

Press K2 + K3 to enter/exit drawing mode. The default drawing color is black (lowest pitch) so you may want to switch your “style” to “dark”, “gray” or “light” before entering drawing mode to give yourself a nice canvas to draw on.

You cannot enter the other menu pages while in drawing mode.

ALSO: You may want to save your masterpiece after creating it!

K1 = brightness/pitch
K2 = x position
K3 = y position

Also … a couple of fixes related to loading save files.

Enjoy!!!

Drawing mode is cool but very labor intensive. I would dearly love to be able to import a PNG as originally conceived. Even being able to run some kind of external export script on an image file outside of Pixels, then saving it as a .txt file in a subfolder would be amazing.

Drawing mode is definitely limited by some of my design choices and I haven’t delved into it and created anything usable yet. I think it would be better used to modify existing landscapes. I was always terrible at the etchasketch.

I’d love to get a library working that could read pixel luminance (0-255) and let me pull landscape data from imported PNGs. I’m holding out hope the the Norns sea will push forward on the Cairo aspects they updated recently and some pixel reading stuff will materialize.

really hope you can get that library figured out. would be extremely cool to be able to import our own .pngs to be explorable landscapes! very excited to try out drawing mode as it is right now either way!

Pixels 1.4 has been released!

  • Added individual control of the scale for each pixel.

The names are abbreviated until K3 makes an adjustment. Then the full name of the scale is shown and fades out often a couple of seconds.

  • added individual pixel “life” selection
  • added two mute groups
  • reordered the “pixels” menu page
  • fixed a parameter saving bug
