Did I already post this here?

I think I didn’t, so go check it out, it’s a great music-only podcast! It’s incredible how diverse the music they mix is, and how consistent it always sounds anyway. I don’t know how they do it, but they do it.

Klankschap, like a smooth landscape full of silenced and minimal clangs…maybe with some trees as ultimate noise-beacons, wrapped into a soundsculpture.
Expect everyhting or even nothing, because this radioshow is like a meander, eroding and creating a whole new story in your ear.
Spoken word, experimental electronica, ambient, turntablism, avantgarde, musique conrète, drone, … it’s all in there.

That great, man. Thanks for listening. Do my best to track down links to everything I play so even if maybe a tape is sold out, you can at least check out the label or grab a digital copy where available.

The latest episode is streaming on NTS Radio right now. I’ll add it to the feed sometime next week.

Here’s a list of some of my favorite podcasts (going to skip the ones already mentioned like Art + Music + Tech etc):

  • Omnibus: In Omnibus, John Roderick (from the band The Long Winters) and Ken Jennings talk about strange and obscure topics in the hope that these recordings and this knowledge can be used as a time capsule by future civilisations in a post-apocaliptic world.
It’s incredibly fun and entertaining. Make sure to listen to the episode about “The Rachel”.

  • Roderick on the Line: a weekly conversation between Merlin Mann and John Roderick. While they often talk about random stuff, John often shares some really interesting ideas about how he imagines the future. It’s definitely of of my favorite podcasts of all time.

  • Hello Internet: hosted by the youtubers / creators CGP Grey and Brady Haran. They talk about
Youtube, cool and amazing things, random stuff (like bees), etc. It’s lightweight and very funny.

  • The Hilarious World of Depression: mental health is still something that we as a society still struggle with and in this podcast the host interviews many comedians, artist, etc to talk about this subject in an open way.

Radiolab - Musical Language [David Cope, Diana Deutsch, Anne Fernald and Jonah Lehrer] --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In this hour of Radiolab, we examine the line between language and music. What is music? Why does it move us? How does the brain process sound, and why are some people better at it than others?

very interesting bit by d. cope  ~51:30

  • about how one of his software generated 'Bach pieces
was mechanical and brutal when played by the computer,
and the same piece of music was super beautiful when sung by a choir with a more human feel
    (same notes)

This one comes from a trusted friend. This is primarily for folks who like D&D, though I’ve never played and listening to these guys play over podcast is excellent. Mort Garson and other synth music here also a +.

Not technically a podcast – or, well yes it’s TECHNICALLY a podcast, in that it’s available as one. Anyway I like Seven Second Delay! It’s a comedy show but they do some great radio art stunts as well. Like this episode where listeners interview live callers via triggering clips of Ken & Andy with a web-based soundboard: WFMU: Seven Second Delay with Ken and Andy: Playlist from July 27, 2016

Here’s a bunch more:

Edit: this show is usually offensive in a heartwarming way.

Nice, just subscribed! I like Goldsmith’s work— “Capital” is a giant brick but a pleasure to wander around in.

There’s a podcast called “Meet the Composer” and one of the interviews is with the composer Nico Muhly. Check it out here.

I find listening to him, his insight, his humor, his quirkiness, his music, and just his views wildly fascinating and interesting. He makes me feel like it’s truly okay to be a creative in this world, that there’s something worthwhile in the pursuit of finding that special something we’re all out there looking for.

One of my favorite pieces of his is “Mothertongue

Check him out, check out the podcast, and let us all know what you think!

Stumbled upon Crucial Listening a couple of days ago. Currently listening to the latest episode with Mark Fell. So far so good. Could be interesting to explore.
