OH YES. That’s my number one feature request fulfilled, then…

Just ordered

Adding timestretch to the sample editor is a huge addition and unexpected. I wonder what algorithm it’s using? I could see see this box becoming huge with boom bap producers in addition to all of jungle/d&b folks.

My line of thinking exactly. The first loop I did with the Tracker when I took it out of box was boom bap type stuff, and even before that it sounded like it would be perfect for that.

yup. Ive been noticing an uptick in downtempo / lofi stuff in my insta and youtube feeds. Time stretching is gonna blow that out of the water.

and make me want to sell my MPC Live even more

Of course, you could already do old school tracker style ā€œtime stretchingā€ (kind of reminiscent of the classic crappy AKAI timestretch) by using fast enough pattern subdivision / tempo and playing with the sample position / offset command. I assume the offline version will be something slightly fancier.

Very excited for the time stretch, live audio line input and sound enhancement options, that’ll be great. I’ve had my tracker for a week now and really really love it.

OK - I do have one issue sometimes with the tracker, I’ll press undo when I’m in song mode and suddenly an entire pattern will disappear with seemingly no way to get it back. One time I pressed undo again a couple times trying to undo-the-undo only to have everything gone. What is happening there?

Pressing ā€œUndoā€ again doesn’t ā€œundo the undoā€, it undoes more operations. On the Song screen ā€œundoā€ shouldn’t delete pattern data, you should be able to re-add the slot, select the previously set pattern number and you’re good to go. If you discover a specific quirk about the behavior of ā€œUndoā€, reporting on GitHub will get it fixed the fastest :sunglasses:

excited to hear about those new features! just got mine, with this and the recent update, it’s pretty tough keeping up with all of the feature additions!

Hard to say exactly what happened, but I definitely had it clear out data from my actual patterns. Hopefully doesn’t come back up but I’ll report if it does

UPDATE FIXED (changed usb cables) : Hi anyone had any issues connecting to Norns usb to usb? I can’t get the Polyend to appear in the midi settings on Norns - see my post here -

I hadn’t realized that Norns will power the Tracker + provide midi from the single USB3 port. Game changer! I’m curious what shenanigans you’re up to with that combination.

Edit: at the risk of blowing up your insta, your experiments with Tracker are already sounding pretty great.

Thanks - I’m just checking out the Norns specific synths and checking ithe cc modulation side. So far, Molly Poly and Passersby synth works well. Still need to check the others like the mutable instruments synths. There’s some interesting sound design type stuff you can do sending out a lot of CC modulation to some of the granular synth apps on Norns. It’s early days, but looking like a great combo. Shared power, and audio outputs going out from Tracker into Norns. You can live record stuff directly to the tape folder on Norns.

Ok that power sharing setup with Norns is not advised by Monome. - see this post

Ah, ok, the provided midi TRS to DIN adapter and a cheap USB midi interface it is then.

FWIW, I was about to make the same note, and there’s more discussion about that in the thread now - the Tracker draws less than 500mA so it should be safe to power from Norns or any standard USB port supplying enough current in that regard. That’s in the same realm as Grid with everything on, I guess.

(It’s really pretty remarkable how little power the Tracker draws, it can practically run days on a 23 000 mAh power bank…)

Hey all, just got my Tracker (!) and wanting to move over to a larger SD card, but cloning/copying contents (even with hidden files) has proved unsuccessful…and i just get the ā€œplease insert sd card to continueā€ screen when using my new sd.

Has anyone else run into this, or had success moving everything over to a larger sd? Thx!

trying my best not to unbox mine before christmas so I didn’t tested yet, but have you tried formatting your SD card to FAT32 ?

some folks over the PT FB users group report using regular 128 GB cards without trouble after following the format instructions in the manual
