have they responded to you? if so, any luck?

I recently got ppool running on a 2016 mac book pro running on catalina. Max 8.1.8 installed in ~/Documents/Max\ 8. I put the ppooll 8.2 directory in ~/Documents/Max\ 8/ppooll and it shows up in the extras drop-down menu in max - and has been working for me. I installed percolate and karma and have munger and karma working well. I have been struggling to get mixer to work. But I’ve been getting around that by routing audio through ableton using the blackhole audio router.

Made this last night with gg.rainer, karma, and some various effects. (link).

I’ll work at debugging the pool mixer this week.

No response yet unfortunately. @adaherb so you’re seeing ppooll host in the this dropdown? Hoping it’s just an issue of putting ppooll in the right folder

Here’s where my ppooll is, still getting a semi-complete host

you want to put the ppooll directory in Max\ 8/packages - you have it in one directory up from that

i have the same problem on windows 10, latest max version.
i never heard of this package before and very curious to dive in! hope it gets fixed

This piece is composed of ppooll jams. I don’t quite remember the exact patch, but I think the output of a sinewave generator went to a buffer, which in turn was sent back through some effects to slightly modulate the frequencey or phase of the sinewave generator as well, in one way or another. And then some buffer manipulation as well.

this is gorgeous in 20 characters

I’m trying to get lloopp to work on an old Powerbook running OS9. Max/MSP 4 runtime.
This is what it looked like after loading a random object and it freezing the whole laptop. I’ll return to post more if I find something worthwhile.

Listened to this at work today and I must say, you crafted a beautiful narrative here.
Very enthralled with the animalistic sounds that emerged on Klingt.
Will pick up on the next Bandcamp day

hey all, after years of trying to get ppooll to work on windows with no luck, it was great to have it work on my iMac

I have ppooll running on Mojave 10.14.6, max 8.1.3, but I’m not sure which version of ppooll is happening. Any one know how to check that?

edit: so after messing around a bit, some acts seemed to not be working, so I updated to the newest version of ppooll and max and everything seems to be working now, gotta say though, the routing is not the most intuitive, but I’m getting there

I got this message when installing after doing a plugin scan.

An apparent security function in recent OS that flags downloads from the internet automatically.

Try scanning for Plugins and see if you get the pop up. After I clicked OK, it seems to work fine. Although I haven’t gone too deep into actually using it.

You are killing it with these posts! I remember messing around in lloopp a couple years back and loving it. Got distracted with mods and hacks in hardware and no input mixer stuff for a bit but now looking to get back. Many thanks!

Got lloopp running on OSX 10.3 now. Runs a bit better than on OS9. Which means it crashes, but at least it doesn’t freeze the entire laptop. I would like the get a version of ppooll that features the spectral objects. It did in Max 6.

Had this same problem with Max 8.1.2 on Windows 10 and I think I’ve managed to solve this by downloading the external separately from https://web.archive.org/web/20190913190815/http://ppooll.klingt.org/index.php/max_externals (had to use wayback machine, the page is empty since the last update apparently) and replacing the previous one - ll_number.mxe64 - on Max 8\Packages\ppooll\externals\filip. Hope it helps.

made myself a lines account just to thank you. you’re a legend!

YES! thank you! this fixed it!

sorry for the delay, got sick the past month but saw it through! I can confirm Max 8 and the ppooll host successfully running now that I moved it to Packages! excited to start playing around with it more, so far gg.rainer is just as fun as I expected. want to dive more into delayloops as that one is proving a bit tricky.

Using ppooll quiet a lot! Especially the beast feedback act and the kk.rainer.
Here a example where I used beast for a project I do with Maotik.

anyone using ppooll ver 8.2 and know how to route audio in from an audio interface? the tutorials i’ve been watching have used an act called INa, which i am not seeing in 8.2. there’s an INmulti but doesn’t seem to have the same function.

try using buffub - you can pass audio through without needing to record.
