Not really a pre release. Oh well.
I don’t know how many Line6 Helix users there are here. Personally adding an HX Stomp to my studio corner really improved the feel of feeding a guitar into my fates/octatrack. And a fun thing to pair with the midi LFOs on the Octatrack. Especially after going DI with an overdrive pedal as my “amp” for many years.

Anyways, they released 3.0 of the firmware today. And it has a bunch of really cool features I’m looking forward to testing out.

Did anyone else back the MOD dwarf? I cant wait for it to turn up. But I believe that won’t be until next year sadly. I had naively hoped it would be a Christmas gift to myself.

Anyone pick a maestro up yet? Would love to hear some in-use opinions.

A buddy of mine got one and loves it. He does youtube vids and should be uploading one today! He apparently adores it.

Niiiiiice! Sure looks neat!

Just discovered this (a more minimally design-focused midi keyboard)

It’s not cheap compared to other keyboards, but $750 for a Poly-AT keyboard that’s hand-manufactured I guess is not exceptionally out of range. I like the overall design, but the module with the knobs seems off to me…something about the whatever the equivalent to “margin” and “padding” irl is, hah. also the branding is so bold, it seems like the opposite of what they were trying to go for…I probably would have went more monome and less moog with that kind of styling, but that’s just me

But definitely a cool start. I do feel like the feeling of an instrument can be important…midi controllers have never felt right to me when I’ve tried to use them (have never owned one of the fancier ones, so maybe that’s why)

Can you point me to the Poly-AT info? I can’t seem to find it for that keyboard. I absolutely love polyphonic aftertouch but my midiboard is a bit… large.

From their latest ig post “* 61 key semi-weighted keyed with polyphonic aftertouch” https://www.instagram.com/p/CIUDbx4Ddod/

Thanks! I wonder how it feels. Definitely looks cool!

It looks interesting, though I think having the pitch / mod wheels above the keyboard rather than to the left may be polarizing.

i think the bigger thing for me is all that empty space to the top right. yes, you don’t need a million bells and whistles, and it does look restrained, but if there’s something i’m supposed to use for years and years it’s gotta be flexible to change with me, so i think a few more control surfaces (ribbons, pads, etc.) would make more sense

Hah, when I saw it I immediately thought “what a nice blank canvas for me to put whatever controller I want on top of it”.

Yeah I think it would be good to put a norns running pedalboard on it!

haha that makes sense!

I recently bought one of these, and love it to death. Totally top class in every way. Keys aren’t my first instrument, so check the specifics that are important to you with Extra Deluxe, but this gets an unreserved 5 stars from me.

EDIT : I wish it had a USB-C connector, but, oh well.

(irony-free meme)

I’m thinking of getting one of these for my 11 year old nephew for xmas, if they are available before then. Looks like a fun thing to explore. Anything can be patched to anything…no way to mess it up.

This had not crossed my radar. It’d make for a fun partner to my DFAM!

I think the Kastle Drum is sold out, at least from Bastl directly.

It looks really nice indeed, and well designed. Bastl do some really cool stuff (and seem to be great people too, which is always a plus).

yeah it sold out and their distributors have not received stock yet, I don’t think. Soon I hope.
