I’m betting some routing is involved, and yeah, tactile would make sense with what I’ve seen. Pretty sure I’ve seen envelopes as well.
Maybe some teleplexer + pressure thingie.

The edge in the first shot kinda makes this look standalone. I really hope so, since I just dumped all my euro for 4u serge, but would be willing to buy a standalone euro controller-type module since the TKB is so $$$.

I think it’s a Nu-Coast

i could see it being a west coast capacitive tetrapad type thing

I don’t think so, it could also be the union of the module with the case. Other than that, #modularsynth and #eurorack are written in the publication. I would like some stand alone controller for the 0-coast, though.

Edit: Looking at it again, I’m not so sure about the edge looking like a MN case or skiff. It could very much be a standalone semimodular.

Yeah have to say the edge in that first shot looks much more like the end of an 0-coast enclosure than either the MN skiff or 7u case.

If that is the case (haha) then I would guess it’s some kind of effects companion for the 0-coast with an element of touch control. It would make a lot of sense, given the popularity of the 0-coast as a way into modular, to create a product that compliments it.

Still hoping I’m totally wrong and it’s new pressure points though.

I bet on standalone expression controller.
0-coast format, output gates, cv values, pitch, short exp envelopes/strike, pressure, some kind of XY movement, and special gestures — distance between hands (I think it’s for two hands, see graphics on video).
The main feature: it’s a looper for expression/automation, recording all movements, with overdub and some strange sequence mutation/transformation.
When you press ‘button with hand’ it starts recording and stops when it done. So it’s a sequencer. Also would be nice to have memory states.
Circles is a symbol of recording, as it a head of person which means BRAINS, and also it’s motion metaphor.
Priced like 0-coast about $500.

Aiiii, if this is indeed a standalone unit, I might be in trouble. There’s clearly FX going on, so if those are built-in, the cost could be a bit rough. I had a 0-coast, but quickly ran out of inspiration, since my feeble mind kept thinking I needed a sequencer of some sort. I didn’t do too many MIDI tests with it, and that’s my fault. I might be ready for a patchable standalone system to make some interesting sounds for sampling and playing with my other, “normal” gear.

Now I wonder if this is some sort of companion controller to 0-COAST. A performance touch controller. Maybe it includes some modulation and simple DSP effects.

Standing by my Erbe-acious stereo field notion from before. Some kind of touch controller with effects.

This is next-level lateral thinking. A skeleton is a framework on which you hang vital bits, like the way a case is what you “hang” modules in.

Seems very likely to be in the no-coast enclosure. The lip and the rolled side visible in the video all but confirm as much.

Given all the arrows, I’m wondering if some of the controls are gestural with regards to direction?

Stand alone and I might end up getting this… there’s something about this that really registers as being something I’m after. Too bad I’ll have to miss the live YouTube reveal.

I am going to assume this could well be used to play in a control skiff alongside tempi and rene. I think this could be a doublewide PP. (or could be expanded x2/4). Could it be touch capacitive almost MPE? Whatever it is i am very excited. I am sure it has been inspired by things like the sidrax. We will find out today!

I think no MPE or at least MIDI, Make Noise is all about their own ecosystem support and expansion.
looks like perfect companion for T&MMM or 0-coast as there is no sequencers included.
But other systems with Rene and TEMPI will work well with this sequencer/controller because Rene and TEMPI first of all are about programming sequence and not about expressive interaction.

The more I Watch that teaser, the more I think that what we’re looking at is a standalone Desk top granular/FX box with gesture/pressure controls. It could be a mixture of Arbhar and pressure points. Almost like Borderlands Granular in a semi Modular desktop box.

Or maybe that’s just what I would DREAM of it to be. Haha.

It’s so fun to read all of these speculations. Can’t wait to find out what it actually is. A few more hours!!!

I’m 1 for 1 on predictions with the Polyend Tracker. Although that had been a dream come true, so I just basically said what my dream product would be. Let’s see if this MN prediction is much the same!!

Really excited too, especially so I’ll know what it might mean for the shared system (if it’s not standalone!), which I’m saving up for…

The Sonic State Video seems to have been posted slightly before the Make Noise live stream:
