Wow, more interesting designs from Joranalogue. I barely understand what is happening with the Morph4, excited to see some videos. Wonder how it will compare to something like 4ms VCA Matrix, obviously less straight forward, but maybe more happy surprises…

Any sign of pricing on the morph 4?

He doesn’t have pricing for either module yet, but if you look at his other module prices, it’s not hard to extrapolate that Morph 4 will be somewhere around $300-400 and Fold 6 will be somewhere around $150-200.

Thanks.

Sorry if this is really stupid, but the Morph 4 wouldn’t be a substitute for a matrix mixer, right?

Well, no, Morph 4 isn’t really a matrix—you’ve got four inputs, but you don’t have the orthogonal outputs; instead you’ve got a few different mixes: A+B, C+D, A+B+C+D (unity) and A+B+C+D (averaged). The official functions list is:

voltage controlled mixer
dual crossfader
dual panner
interpolating scanner
interpolating distributor
quad VCA
quadraphonic controller
slope modifier
rectifier
complex waveshaper
… or something in between any of those

Thanks.

I’ve got a few modules like this in mind, one being Let’s Splosh, which isn’t exactly this, but has the end result of taking waveforms and intermingling them in potentially interesting complex ways. I’m contemplating a Let’s Splosh after a Clump, if I can afford the hp…

Do you have any other suggestions for things along those lines?

Let’s Splosh looks pretty cool. There’s always Cold Mac…

Cold Mac is already in my rack!

Time for the «adult» engineers to do some detective work.

Edit: Intel from the OP-forums reports that this might be part of a device with two antennas and 2 mechanical buttons. Teenage Engineering Walkie Talkies?

Two antennas… theremin?

Those are wifi antennae on the PCB… So what would the external antennae be?

Edit:
Oh I misunderstood, I think the two antennae in question ARE the printed ones. So no theremin

This also could just be a small portion of the device.

Seeing rumors that it’s just a bluetooth speaker…

Absolutely. Knowing TEs marketing style it’s just a small part of the puzzle. But yeah, it has antennas and buttons. The OPZ has the same thing. I just hope it’s something fun and music creation related, and that I am not getting hyped for something else…

Dammit. Just read @srogers91 post.

I guess I’m seeing this from the lens of an American during COVID 19 but it seems like an odd time to release something for being outside!
