very respectfully, and I do share your perspective that consumer culture is toxic, but:
a) I wouldn’t consider any of the gear used to be super out of the ordinary
b) it is a mixer that needs audio signals, so by definition you need other gear to test it, and newly received gear is more likely to be floating around outside of a larger setup
c) you can use this with what you already have and not have to buy one single extra thing
d) I don’t feel like this is a great reason to remove from consideration a piece of gear that may meet your needs
e) what are we doing here in this thread, discussing the merits of upcoming consumer goods, if not enabling consumerism?
Tags like “influencer” obscure the fact that these are ultimately freelancer video producers being paid (likely not a ton, or compensated in barter) to put in a lot of time producing really thorough and informative videos about products that are very difficult to try before purchase.
this isn’t They Live here, or a celebrity shilling for a product they obviously don’t use. it’s a friendly synth nerd showing you the possibilities of gear he is generally genuinely excited about.
