While this will not be cheap (and it is only for iPad Pro models CORRECTION: also designed to work with USB-C iPad Air), it caught my attention because there are a lot of folks around here using iPads to make music, and it appears to tick a lot of boxes:

  • headphone output (i.e., audio)
  • portrait/landscape stand
  • four usb ports

Hopefully it will cost less than Apple’s “Magic Keyboard”.

For people using class compliant audio interfaces (FX, mixing and recording), I think is not that interesting. Unless the USBs allows to connect MIDI controllers and start mapping things around between apps.
You have headphone and XLR/TRS outs with the interface anyway.

It’s a really interesting product tho.

I would certainly hope the USB ports would allow you to connect MIDI controllers! I don’t have any experience with the new USB-based iPad Pros (mine is an older Lightning model), so I don’t yet know what to expect.

Maybe I am missing something about the Apple Way ™ - why wouldn’t the USB ports allow (at least) class compliant MIDI devices?

You’re not. Class compliant usb devices all work fine on the iPad, including midi controllers and such.

Not sure if I want an actual re-issue, but I’d be very interested in whatever they come up with. If this is just a 12-voice expansion of the OB-6 that would be pretty fascinating on it’s own. That said I’d love to see the Matrix-12 come out again, with an improved UI.

ha, i felt the same way

i know very little about the roland grooveboxes in general but always wanted to try something like the mc707. i guess this one doesn’t sample maybe? which would be disappointing

Well this got my attention: Prophet 5/Prophet 10 desktop!

this is how I imagine clouds2 (also the looper looks interesting)

Ah, my friend and old collaborator Voks worked on that - woo hoo. Hope this is a sign that things are moving forward on the module.

I like everything I see so far with Cornflakes. Everything seems to be on the surface, and well thought through. Of course, not everything is explained, yet. The SD slot is a little scary.

I would not want to be making a granular module right now. Going to be tough to compete with clouds 2 just on brand name, and there’s already so many looping/granular options out there in euro, not to mention the numerous granular VSTs and Norns scripts. Seems like playability will be paramount.

The harmonization functions here remind me a lot of the kind of stuff you can do with the Crusher X VST, but more accessible.

This does look pretty sick, interested to see where it’s priced at. Buyers should be excited, easy to get 1-2 granular modules and some modulation sources and make a few ambient albums haha.

Oh my…I really hope we are close.

I’ve got 14hp and $359 (my guesstimate) reserved. the waiting is absolutely killing me.

Flagged because why? Someone break an NDA?

The last round of modules were leaked and Emilie was not happy.

They get the module early in good faith and they join the board for the sole purpose of tease-leaking it? Poor show imo.

I didn’t get the module, I found the image (which got flagged) on Facebook. It’s still there, publicly available so let’s not go all crazy with assumptions. Besides, the image I posted didn’t show anymore than what’s already been teased by MI, but as you kindly noted I’m new here so it’s not my place to question the community rules. I sincerely thought people would appreciate the picture rather than evaluate my morals.

Well, welcome to the board anyway. Stick around and chat; coffee’s on the stove.

Here’s a safe and official stand-in for the object of our gear-desires (upper right):
