Eh, I’ll wait for the clone.

I’m cool with the MIDI, but why do these people hate CV so much?

It would be better off at 2-3x the size. Then you could actually have room to play the knobs and also add proper cv control.

Or perhaps they think of the module as a self contained voice that is more static and less suited to dynamic / feedback / generative stuff.

I think they expect it to be played polyphonically, and didn’t want 8 CV/gate input pairs

The other three have teasers on XAOC’s instagram, but these are the two I’m most interested in.

One looks a Leibniz CV recorder, the other looks like a Drezno v2. They didn’t show the drezno looking one in the earlier blank panel teasers when they showed 6 new modules, so I’m guessing one or two got delayed.

I agree. With so few CV inputs, they might as well be making stand-alone synthesizers.

Nice. This 1U version has 4 pots where the 3U version has only 3. So this is a much more versatile configuration IMO. Plus the layout it better with the metered knobs aligned and the cables well out of the way.

The only thing I’d be wary of is current draw. The 3U has nontrivial requirements given what its functionality is:

  • Current Draw: +12v: 110 mA -12v: 43 mA

I would expect the 1U to draw some percentage more. Depending on your case that may be a non-issue or it might be something to consider.

Just saw this.

Field Amp is optimised for Hi-Z signals like contact mics and geophones. It also acts as an impedance converter with a powerful output signal. No loss of signal quality when you keep the wiring short between microphones and the input. The output is a strong signal and you don’t have to worry about a few meters of cable.

• High-class pre-amp for contact mics, geophones etc.
• Case included
• 9V DC power supply or battery
• USB-C to barrel connector adapter cable included
• Up to ~50x adjustable gain
• 1 mono input
• 2 mono outputs (one -12 dB)
• All connections 3.5 mono jack
• 12 x 12 x 3.4 cm
• 410 g (incl. case & USB-C to barrel cable)
• 1/4"-UNC mount on top and bottom for camera tripods etc.

Genious idea to release this just BEFORE everyone else on SB!

Now this, I’m hype for. Those 6 1/4" outs all having internal connectors is literally my dream.

Between the Instruo Aradh, Steady State Gate, 292t, various modules from more obscure vendors, and now this, 2023 is starting to look like the Year of the LPG in Eurorack-land:

As a Natural Gate owner, the idea of CV-morphable EGs in the LPG is quite appealing to me.
