Well it’s maybe just a matter of semantics as they’ve also confirmed they’re working on a newer version of the OP-Z. Let’s just see what happens I guess

Yes, of course. The fun of this kind of mysterious announcement is the speculation.

This is some exciting hype. Would love some multitrack options with OP1f and tx-6?

Either way I love the playful vibe of the announcement. Thanks for the heads up.

TO MY DEAR AND VALUED COLLEAGUES:

The logical next release, especially on the heels of their “field table”, is a …

… wait for it …

Looking at the iconography, my guess is a new Pocket Operator, or maybe a series of them. I’m reading some significance into the faux multi-segment alphanumeric characters in the graphics, and the overall style of the icons. Plus it would be the perfect surprise move after a few years of releasing high-cost, luxury type devices to put out something cheap and throw off the hate mob.

I need a portable Raccoon. One that I can put in a carry on that TAP airlines won’t have an issue with. TP-R1. I also play trombone but want TE to steer clear of that.

I used to be a trombonist for quite a while as well, I admit TE S-42 Stradivarius Field Slide Trombone doesn’t sound like a good idea.

If I may pre-release mega-hype my own thing, I’m currently working on a new sound pack with racks made of Ableton’s Drift synth. It’s not entirely ready but also shouldn’t take super long until it’s finished.

This looks fun!

Seems like thisa could be used to run a digitakt as a polysynth like that one maxforlive patch!

Can you then record the trigs in digitakt over multiple channels at the same time?

Actually I realize I have a MI midipall that can probably do the same trick.

Yep, that does work.

New polyend device https://polyend.com/play-plus

I feel like this is what the Play should have been from the start, especially in regard to stereo samples.

Multi-track audio streaming over usb sounds awesome.

This is ridiculous, the original Play came out less than one and a half years ago. They really need better product strategy and long-term vision.

With Play+, we’ve delicately transitioned from mono to stereo…

:joy:

I was hoping they would update the play, as the workflow always looked fun to me, but I couldn’t go for mono samples. Wavetable based fm synth engine sounds pretty interesting, too…

They seem to have some kind of trade-in program to upgrade from a Play to a Play+, but I agree, it’s a weird decision. Kind of feels like they rushed the original Play (which is something that reflected in lots of missing functionality in the firmware) and then halfway through realized they were hardware limited

The new synth features seem a little tentative/half-baked.
