Would that mean anything for the previous 3U version, specifically the diy kit? The kit was not available for quite some time and now I can’t find its page on Thonk anymore. Will there be new stock, or may it be discontinued?

It looks like there might be a mistake in the provided information. Perhaps the width is actually 42HP and the product description was accidentally copied from the GTS information.

I would have left more space between the pots and bring the sockets closer. Stereo would be nice too.

Yeah I don’t love that layout.

I understand the desire to stick to tradition, but it really seems like coming out with something like this right now, and not making it stereo, is incredibly shortsighted. I’m sure plenty of people will find a way, even if it’s by mixing channels later on, but stereo out of the box in the current Eurorack environment seems like a no brainer for an effect like this.

Also no more feedback phase inversion switch. Though it’s easy enough to patch up that is a small feature I miss not having on my CGS/slider version.

Personally would go with a Frap tools Fumana in eurorack, that’s the modern update to the VC Res EQ I feel.
Or just go full 4U Serge! The layout of the 4U VC Res EQ makes more sense.
Maybe I’m just saying this to convince myself of getting a 4U Serge…

Hainbach just posted a great video about an audio feedback instrument I’m super interested in. They have a waitlist on their site…

Discussion about the Fjærlett (and, possibly more importantly, its cursed waitlist):

I don’t think there is a stereo fixed filterbank on the market.
by chance, I got a second ADDAC 601 VC Fixed Filterbank. Stereo processing is surprisingly effective.
(the upper 8 big knobs are for the 8 fixed filters, the two 3MIA’s for the CV of six bands)

I was indeed high on my price guess: €890 with VAT/€750 without. The 4U tax on Siegfried is pretty crazy then if everything else under the hood is the same as the Euro versions.

On the VC resonant eq: a lot of people take a mono in and use upper and lower combs for faux stereo. I realize that does nothing for a stereo input but it’s an option.
Also I had the Fumana and now have a ResEQmk2 and sonically they are nothing alike. Just very different sounding implementations of the filterbank idea.

the Siegried also features a Variable Bandwidth Filter
(edit: ok i just saw the price, i thought it was the 1250€ i saw in your previous post. Quite expensive indeed.)

Or use a mid-side processor and send the side through, or both into both inputs and then mess with relative gain. There are few stereo filter banks because stereo means twice the components on something that is already pretty beefy. A lot of the stereo stuff in euro is digital where stereo is easier to implement. I work with a stereo workflow and a “regular” ResEQ and I’ve never even thought about needing stereo inputs on it. I’d just buy a second one.
Kind of agree that at this size I might just get a Fumana, though i am a ResEQ devotee.
Also, those of you with a Disting EXs and a 16n - you can get most of the way to this module already

Don’t forget the bark filter from Verbos.
I have it and it’s quite unique. Self patching is so rewarding !

Zlob F3DB is another VC filterbank. Only 6 bands, but it still has a lot of cool options, like per band clipping and an open feedback loop. And gain feedback!
