Hey @chapelierfou ,
I’m not sure I’ve understood all your points, but if so, this could be what you’re looking for.
Let me know  Mlr_re_work_20191015.zip (3.3 KB)

I sent you a private message so I don’t pollute this thread too much.

I’ve been searching unsuccessfully for this tidbit…

Where can I find the console log for pd on linux (raspberry pi/debian)?

I believe it’s sent to stdout when using -nogui

yeah… using -nogui. So that means it’s not saved to a file at all?

(running Orac as a systemctl service so not getting stdout)

…then the question is about how to look at stdout/stderr from systemd services, which is not exactly about puredata, and depends entirely on how you set up StandardOutput and StandardError in your service conf.

(typical default is for systemd to send them to its journal, thereby visiable with journalctl -u [service], but redirecting to /var/log is also common.)

Oh cool. Thanks for that. Still much to learn on linux.

Externals ( big part of orac is its ‘’Kontrol’ externals) tend to output to stderr/out , so as @zebra says uses journalctl to get output.
Also you could stop the service and just run from the command line while testing - that’s what I do

i’m attempting to port crow.maxpat for the crow module to pd. my crow module arrived. yay!

Wondering if anyone has any ideas about the below:

  1. i’m unsure what the equivalent for max/msp’s jit.gl.lua is. Is ofelia the library i need to look at to use a lua script in pd?

  2. Is there a straightforward way to do regex in pd that i am missing? i’m doing some goofy stuff with [route] and [message], but i’m sure there must be a better way.

  3. Finally - are [netsend] and [netreceive] equivalent to max’s [udpsend] amd [udpreceive]?

Can’t really help from here and I don’t think I can answer any of these questions, but i’d be happy to test when I’m home next week.

I’m going to drink some beer and do some patching later, I’ll absolutely report any progress here

1 - yes, have a look at ofelia. There was a pdlua lib, but it’s crashing here.
2 - have a look at [regex] from the zexy lib.
3 - [netsend] and [netreceive] talk TCP by default. You have to use the -u flag to make them talk UDP, so use [netsend -u] and [netreceive -u]. You ca also try to use the mrpeach lib, which has [udpsend] and [udpreceive]

OK thank you. zexy regex will do nicely. I’ll try netsend to begin with.

This year in addition to obviously some lua and a supacollider refresher I am learning the Windows 10 for 64 bits so i am learning to make 64bit .DLLs
i just finished soundtouch~
It’s a fun pitch shifting library that Katja Vetter uses in parts of SliceJockey written by Olli Parviainen(https://www.surina.net/olli_personal.html)*
https://www.dropbox.com/s/fx41pzfc383ec9w/soundtouch_%20.zip?dl=0

previously only 32 bit

Also Soundhack – Tom Erbe’s older soundhack stuff is now in Deken

We just completed getting LyonPotpourri objects [as well as pdstring~ which is part of moocow externals working for windows10 so i would like to share

This requires LyonPotpourri now available for windows10, pdstring and mtl abstractions by Patrick Sebastien.

It is a sample accurate, generative [markov masking] drum sampler with a fun vanilla reverb(s)

What do people think with regards to vanilla vs Purr Data vs others?

oooh new automatonism yaay! happy to see all these new modules and easier control message setup. ( also <11mb package is sooo refreshing :stuck_out_tongue: )

@P1505 i installed purr data for the bendy connectors and am finding it’s also easier to grab outputs when patching.

i already posted this update sorry for double posting

In gneral I find Purr Data easier and more pleasant to work with. It’s small things, but then, it’s usually the small things that make the difference.
The only problem with Purr Data is that if you need the patches to run on something that rellies on Vanilla (eg. Organelle), you need to figure out which externals are being used and that can be a bit complicated, since Pd doesn’t really help you much with that. At least not to my knowledge.
