The problem i’m running into is the uninstall of Java 8. For the life of me I can’t figure out how to do it. Once thats uninstalled, i should be good to go with 6.

hmm – i didn’t need to uninstall Java 8 to install the 6 SE legacy runtime. Max has some objects that require the legacy runtime, but that shouldn’t replace your system Java – it should be able to be installed in parallel. verified on my machine under System Preferences > Java:

but this is all 10.14 – are you getting specific messages from Catalina that Java 8 must first be uninstalled?

Yep. I’m getting specific messages to uninstall Java 8 and reinstall Java 6.

Hi,
I was able to install Java Legacy version after following this intructions :

Enjoy!

Hi el-quinto,

newbie with the monome. I love your app, awesome. That’s what I’m looking to do!
But, the sets won’t load with the Ableton project… When I select ‘Open Set…’ in the floating windows I see the saved set with the saved samples and I have to reorganize the whole set. Also I get the message that Java is not installed on the laptop. Could that be the reason?

I’m on os 10.15.4, Ableton 10.1.9 and Max 8.1.3

Thanks for your work! I will donate.

Djeff

Edit: So, i could install Java 6 runtime Legacy on Catalina and I get the ‘Java not installed’ message. That’s good. Now when I open the project in Ableton, I get the sample assigned on the first row copied on every other rows and all my settings for ‘grid’, ‘select’ and ‘snap to’ are different.
When I try to open the set under ‘set’ everything is blanked. Makes sense?

Thank you

Thank you for your input. I must be extremely dumb but it’s not working for me. The saving is not working… When you write ‘Click On Store and Name Your Set’, which ‘Store’ button are you talking about? I don’t see one either on the floating window or on the app window…

Thanks

Djeff

I eventually abandoned use of this app because of inconsistencies with the save function. If this was just my own dumb fault and there’s a better way to do it, I’d be all about it.

Yep… Did you try Holl1f3ld solution?

Nah. Work, along with a specific track I’m working on, have prevented me from testing it. If I have some time tomorrow I might give it a shot. We’ll see.

i’m thinking this is a user error. there’s a specific order in which you need to save everything, it’s been a while since i used re:mix though.

That’s what I’ve been trying:

When you are happy with your set

1. Open the floating window
2. Click on Store and name your set
3. Click on Open Set
4. Click Collect All and Save
5. Save Live Set

So far, no luck…
Now, if you have a different method that is working I’d be more than happy to
try it.

Did you save your preset before saving your set?
maybe this one helps you?

And pls don’t move your samples(tracks/songs ) to other places also don’t change name of The samples after you use them and save them with re:mix otherwise your set will be ruined.

You need to use collect and save function from re;mix app If you have to change your sample name or move your sample to different places. .

Yes, of course. I know the basics. My issue was with the ‘overwrite’ button, it looks like.

Thanx again

I’ve read through this entire thread but couldn’t quite find the answer to this. Am i able to record live instruments/live vocals into re:mix, on the fly? Sort of like a live looper?
Hmmm…

Arith - yes you can, you need to do this with the input.amxd module.

However, I’m finding that the loop recording is always terminated prematurely for some reason - and consequently the playback is always pitched down. Has anyone seen that before?

Where can we download the required Java for REMIX?
Should we download or remix can run without the update?
