Figured out about the PAGES for different settings with the mods. However, I’m wondering if there is a way to have the octave settings apply immediately, as opposed to after the next key press on that row (similar to mlrv or Norns mlr). This would make it incredibly more playable and since the pattern recorders work on these presses, would be super musical.

new to monome/ grid / re:mix . But very much enjoying crafting new musical phrases from old loops, was wondering there a way to loop back and forth rather than just forwards or backwards? Thanks

@leescan Could you word your question differently?

Not sure what you mean by “looping back and forth”.

Alternating between forward and backward…

You can alternate whether the loop plays forward or in reverse by clicking the lil arrow to the right of the row. If I remember correctly, the sample won’t just start playing in reverse if you click the lil arrow. You have to retrigger the sample, then It will play in reverse yeah?

When I want to hear a sample or loop both forwards and backwards I put the same sample on two rows. Then one row can be forwards, and one reversed.

yes, i was thinking along the lines of perhaps a ping pong looping mode, so if you were to loop 1st four steps they play forward and then same section in reverse. could be good for drone looping without clicks or pops. thanks

Not exactly what you’re talking about, but have you tried Anaphora yet? It does record while reversing, and the reverse and record buttons are included in the pattern recorder, so that makes for a fun time.

It is better for atemporal stuff. But I got some loops to sync up pretty good to tempo, then I’d print them and drag em into re:mix.
With two grids, you can run both apps at the same time and set up track routing to go from anaphora to re:mix. Might be able to do everything live that way.
