Hi please welcome a noobie newbie to this wonderful forum and someone help me get the basics right :stuck_out_tongue:

Don’t got a monome… trying to run it on ipad using touchOsc…
after loading everything… i dont seem to have any devices listed in the setup… not even launchpad… :
Live is showing incoming and outgoing midi signals on the re:mix channel… but remix itself doesnt seem to recognize any of it…
what to doo? No flashing lights for me yet…

@Ujjwal_Agarwal
to connect to touchosc, turn on ‘OSC out’ and use the ip address and to/from port text fields. if u hover over these, a brief explanation will pop up. i don’t own an iPad, made the layout real quick on a friends, but it worked fine from what i tried. you’ll need to create an ad-hoc network on your computer because if you go through wi-fi there’s too much latency.

I like the idea. theres a few things that would make this difficult to do, but i’ll keep your suggestion in mind. for now pattern lengths and quantization setting are saved (globally) with your Live set.

tried using this on windows 7 today… takes ~2 minutes for the remix.amxd to load :hushed:

it takes less than 10 seconds to load on my mac. anyone on windows also experiencing painfully slow load times? no idea what’s going on…

elquinto, I’ve been using re:mix on windows 7 , loads up in about 10 seconds here also.

nice @elquinto, thanks!
just a quick question. does re:mix work with newer versions of ableton live? i have 9.1.6 and i was think about updating to a newer version, will i have problems?

it’ll work fine as long as u use max 6. a bunch of ui stuff needed to be updated to make it usable with max 7.

preliminary max 7 update is on github (Max7 branch)
https://github.com/el-quinto/mix/tree/Max7
(requires Live 9.2 or later, don’t use this version with max 6)

thank you!
i’ll have a look @ max 7 and live 9.2 update.

finished updating the app for Max 7 and merged to the master branch.

just a heads up, the Max 6 version, for those that need it, can be found here -

this is most likely the final release compatible with Max 6.

Your app is great!
I have a suggestion that would be awesome to have. In addition to Loop, Shot and Slice mode, a mode where when you push a button you play the full slot would be perfect. Like a Slice that does not stop when you release but when the 1/8th is played.
That’s how I use MLR.

Does anyone know if there’s a way to delete a preset after it’s been inserted into the set? I tried editing the patch file manually to remove the present but that seems to cause some issues.

No, but I can look into adding that in.

Right now u would have to overwrite a preset if u want it gone.

Yea I think a delete button would be useful within the interface. Maybe the ‘insert’ button becomes a drop-down just like the ‘set’ drop-down and you have the option to ‘insert’, ‘store’, ‘delete’

fresh update on github, what’s new-
slightly redesigned the preset section. included the ability to delete presets.

keys c/v (with the mouse hovered over a row) are now copy/paste row settings shortcuts. also lets u copy/paste across presets.

SLICEd play mode- similar to slice mode, but if you press a pad quickly it’ll play the entire step.

a few bugs found and squashed, mostly related to the new SLICEd mode. pretty sure it’s good now, but just in case, might want to check github later in the week for more fixes.

posted another update.

if you’re wondering where the record section went, it now has its own floating window accessible from the input.amxd. (i found myself having to switch tracks a lot just to see which input was selected, i think a floating window is much better) little quirk- if u want to midi-map anything in the floating window, u need to have the re:mix track selected before u enter midi-map mode. (same thing if u want to midi-map anything in the main device’s floating window) this is a limitation of live, no way around it.

fixed follow actions for longer loops (if the loop was 4+bars it would trigger the next loop early).
improved SLICEd mode. works good with short loops now (where each slice is less than 16n).
with the transport stopped, if u press a pad in a row it’ll light up to show it’s queued, pressing a lit up pad again will start the transport.
-more minor fixes/improvements

The new SLICEd mode is fantastic elquinto. You rock!!

@elquinto good sir the ‘LP’ button seems to have conveniently disappeared in the latest versions? So has the LED feedback on launchpad as a result. It works perfectly though and everything else is all smooth and really wonderful…

just no LED feedback on the launchpad :confused:

@Ujjwal_Agarwal
sorry to say, you’ll need to connect using gridlock for the time being. i don’t own a launchpad so it’s very difficult for me to support it.

@cha
glad u like it!

@elquinto I get it man. Just that it was working absolutely fine in the earlier versions when that ‘LP’ button was there. It means a lot for people who don’t own a monome bro… its not a cheap gadget plus all this shipping bullshit… launchpad is cheap…
Look at the fun i was having with it 2 months ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WXDzauxBQUg

Now i just finished some serious production and wanted to use remix to play it live and i am stuck. I do have the option of going back to the old max6 release though :slight_smile: which worked pretty smooth for my needs at least.
