@Ujjwal_Agarwal please give gridlock a try, it’ll let u connect a Launchpad/PUSH/APC and more. i made an extra effort early on to make sure this app supports it. happy to help if u run into problems.

if u and other launchpad users want to pool some donation money together so i can buy a launchpad (like u said, they’re pretty cheap) i could possibly do *real native launchpad support, not half-ass emulation, but something that would actually take advantage of the lp’s extra buttons and multi-color leds.

@elquinto Yes Sir. I ll try Gridlock, just that it looks so complicated.
And also we owe you way more than launchpad kind of money for this beautiful tool. Will try my best to do what i can sooner than later I promise.

@elquinto many many thanks for your work ! superextraordibonkershuge is this app ! could it be possible to have a page dedicated to control the eight macros of a selected track ? or is it already doable ?

no macro page. i haven’t figured out how to do faders in max yet… all the pages currently are just pages from mlr_cyst i modified here and there.

that being said, i would like to have some sort of mappable fader page at some point.

thank you for your answer. yes, i like how convenient it is, to be able to play and control every events from the grid itself and only. if i could hire you as a full time developer on re:mix… :grinning:

just a reminder there’s a donate link in the setup tab if u want to contribute // :grinning: // it’s best u contribute when it counts the most, during development.

there’s been 2 supporters so far, which is soooo much better than zero, but i can’t say that’s a huge boost to morale…

not sure if this is where to ask this question, but is there something i need to do to get my ableton project to remember my re:mix setup? when I load my ableton project re:mix is blank.
I read a bunch of this thread and it didnt look like it was a problem for others. i replaced the M4L devices last night to make sure i had the current ones, but still it doesnt save.

thanks for any help!

@elgrayso
the way this works, when u save your Live project, it stores the file-path of the currently loaded set file in re:mix, then it’ll automatically load this file next time you load the project. basically you just need to make sure you’d saved the set, and it should automatically load with your Live project.

I kept testing it different ways; same problem… but just went over the documentation and realized I’m using Max 6, which must be the problem (I just have M4L)! Didn’t realize it needed Max 7.
I looked into it and it costs $300 to upgrade! Unfortunately I can’t justify that expense so I’ll stick with the old version for now.
Looking forward to using re:mix more either way. Great job. I’ll donate a little bit that I can afford if I end up getting it working and use it often!

The upgrade to Max 7 is free if you’re on Live 9.2+.

I have max for live 6 and use Ableton 9.2.
sorry to get off subject but how do I get the free upgrade?

The FAQ made it sound like I have to upgrade to the full version:

Max 7 is an upgrade of the full version of Max. There is no upgrade available for owners of Max for Live only. If you own Max 7, you can use it within Live. If you are a Max for Live user, we invite you to try the Max 7 demo for 30 days. There is a Max 7 Crossgrade for owners of Max for Live available.

It’s not totally clear from their website but:

  • if you want to use Max 7 on it’s own (outside of Ableton), then what you’ve said is exactly correct.

  • however, if you own Live 9 you can use Max 7 within Max for live - it’s no extra cost. You just install Max 7 and then point Ableton to it as your max version (Preferences, file/folder, Max Application).

sorry to hear that you don’t find much support. you, at least, have a third advocate now.
in the end, why don’t you just call it 1.0 and start to sell it ? a minimalistic web page and some videos could better advertise your work and even drives newcomers to the grid too. the revenue stream would help maintain and further develop re:mix.
i may very well be all wrong.

@elquinto thanks for the reminder about donating. Will do so now :smile:

Maybe I’m misunderstanding the purpose of the input pre-roll, but I find it almost impossible to start recording on a clean downbeat. I have the pre-roll set to 16n but it doesn’t seem to quantize the start of recording. It starts recording immediately.

If I enable punch-in, it does quantize but the shortest pre-roll is 1 measure which is longer than I’d like.

Any tips?

@elquinto just donated a small amount and feel bad about not doing so earlier. used re:mix at a recent gig and couldn’t have done without it. thanks for the work on this thing. will donate again if i keep on using it, which i fully expect to do. thanks!

@thedigitalDog @makingthenoise @myecholalia

thank u very much for supporting! :joy:

@makingthenoise

it’s working fine with 16n for me, u on windows possibly? i can look into a shorter pre-roll for punch-in, what were u thinking?

you deserve it, my friend. hope you get a bunch more donations.

@thedigitalDog’s comment is a good one in my mind. if you can, spend a little time to advertise re:mix and also promote that it works with other grids via gridlock. you might be surprised by the reach you might get.

can you post the donate link here?
