okay cool! but i cant set punch-in to on with pre-roll set to “none”? - i can only get it to start recording after 2 bars instead of 1 because of pre-roll = minimum 1 bar

ah, thats a bug. it shouldn’t be 2 bars. should be 1. thx for the notice.

just fixed/synced to github.

sorry about this, but i can’t midi map any external controls to re:mix…??
any tips would be very welcome, i don’t know what i’m doing wrong here.
thanks.

what are you trying to map? you need to have the re:mix track selected if you’re mapping anything in the floating window.

just making sure, can u map anything else in ableton when u enable Live’s midi-learn?

yes the midi-learn does work and i do indeed select the track.
i’ve tried to map the macros on the device for instance, or the octave up and down on the floating window, or whatsoever. every map option is lit in blue as usual in live, but i can click all i want, nothing happens.
however, i can map anything else in live as usual, so i really don’t get it.

ok i can map on both the main floating window and the record one. not on the macros.

ok, thx. i figured out what was going on, (overlapping bpatchers) i’ll upload the fix in just a sec.

edit- just synced. should be good now, let me know.

thanks and praises and multkisses ! it does work now ! you rock @elquinto !

np man.

@elquinto dude, you’re awesome! big love from germany <3 <3

Do most of you use this for playing drum chops? I’m having mixed results with quantizing the samples and finding a creative ways of putting it to use. Should I be able to record the sequencing of loaded samples? Some type of video showing modes of use would be helpful + amazing.

i’ll have video to share eventually, i promise! hopefully after the next update i’ll have some time to put some footage together.

re:mix has its roots in mlr_cyst, so anything you could do there is still possible. i think this was performed with mlr_cyst… might be wrong, but i’m pretty sure. i watched this video a ton of times before i got my first monome. i’d never seen or imagined samples being played this way before. totally blew my mind. like an mpc from outer space…

Just started using the max 7 version today. I am having an issue with the new groups. When I record audio into remix it is only playing back through the left channel of the groups. When I load the groups from the max 6 version everything plays in stereo just fine. Any thoughts?

the app has a different way of detecting mono files now which is more cpu efficient. before it was always monitoring the right channel, and if it was silent, it would recognize that as a mono file and play on both channels. now it just detects whether a file is mono / stereo when its first loaded. (input1-8 are stereo)

is the audio you’re recording only coming in on the left channel? (if you record audio that’s only coming in on the left channel, it’ll be output only on the left channel) in this case u want to drop Live’s ‘Utility’ device before the input.amxd, which will make the audio 2 channel before it gets recorded.

let me know.

Yeah it is happening with audio recorded from my mic. My mic channel is in stereo. When I load samples they play in stereo fine. Sounds like the utility device would remedy the situation. I’ll give it a try tomorrow and report back. Kudos.

I started everything in a fresh set and it works fine. It was in issue with loading the new version of remix into a set that already had the old version in it I guess.

Hi !!! Awesome app! Got a few questions. Im using re:mix with gridlock mn+ emulator AND push to run this app. Cant drop mp3 files. If somebody is using a similar setup can please help?im using live 9.16 max run 6.1

Thanks!

are u using the max6 version? (here- https://github.com/el-quinto/mix/releases)

i don’t have max6 on my system anymore, but mp3’s were working last time i tried. dropping mp3 files definitely works in the current max7 version.
