I’ve got a revamped preset browser in the works, and re-arranging presets quickly / on the fly is definitely something i’ve been looking into.

for now u need to use the insert and delete preset functions. (insert the current preset to a different slot, then delete the original)

ahhh that’s a great idea with the insert and delete function! thanks for the hint

looking forward to the update

I think this might be the ticket. The 40h is first in the list. When I connect to the 40h the 128 has no effect on remix but when I connect to the 128 the 40h is always affecting remix with the 128 affecting it as well.

so basically when it connects to the first device in the list it works ok, but if u change it to the 2nd, the device still receives press data from the first?

Yes that seems to be the pattern right now.

I have a question .
Who’s using el capitan here with Re:mix?
I use yosemite and works great.
I’m kind of scare to upgrade…

oh man, @elquinto – tis a doozy of a problem I have.

running El Cap, Live 9.5, Max 7. gridlock. LP Mini MK2.

brought the vserialosc-based zeroconf file you included into my Max 7 library. can load my LPM in gridlock easily, running it as a vserialosc, which binds nicely when I click “zeroconf” in the re:mix interface. no samples loaded, transport running – if i hit a button in any row, i get perfect LED feedback. the boxes are all moving. good.

as soon as i load a sample into the interface (just aif file) and try to get playback by hitting the first button of the row it’s assigned to, the LED just hangs. the boxes in the interface do not move. sample doesn’t play.

i have my groups loaded correctly (i think!). i have no idea where to go. other wait for payday so i can just buy a monome.

any ideas? @Kid_Fiction, did you get anything running?

Try enabling caps-lock, then you’ll be able to trigger samples by clicking the on-screen grid. Does that at least work?
(Make sure the transport is running)

Have u tried other audio files? .wav?

same behavior. hit a lane that has a sample loaded, halts. hit a lane with no sample, the light scurries across the lane.

AHHHHH. I got it.

I noticed that no waveform was present when I loaded a sample, so I tried the fix you suggested to @Birdster. which was re-download it. all is well! false alarm. launchpad mini works beautifully with gridlock and vserialosc.

quick question: if I utilize more than the four groups, are there any buttons on a 64 grid that would stop playback of the groups beyond the fourth?

there’s not but groups 5-6 can still be used in oneshot or slice/d modes.

edited for issue changes. up and running with wavs exclusively.

with some wavs, i can only get audio from the left side.

it seems in general, aif files are sort of a no-go. i can swap wavs fine without losing my waveforms and functionality. any ideas why some aifs would cause no waveform and hanging issues @elquinto?

@elquinto THANK YOU so much for this. Donation sent.

I have my laptop in for repair right now, but there could be some compatibility issue with aifs. I’ll check as soon as I get it back.

Are u sure your group.amxd’s are not older ones from the max6 version? That would explain only getting audio on the left side.

@plopp
Thank u very much

edited for issue evolution. and for being both a beggar and chooser the last few days.

my critical project seems to be working fine – all my issues were from pulling test samples from live’s library. I wonder if el cap was causing those problems, though – especially the sample mismatch from my previous edits. I’ll let you know if any issues arise in my more intentional playing around.

one sticky thing I noticed was that when I load a saved set, the visual for the waveform in the floating window only loads halfway. the full sample plays, so no problem there, but it’s a little cognitively jarring.

also question/request: is it possible for the user to change the trigger quantization for each sample? there are some sounds I would like to trigger as 1/16th triplets, but others that I need on the fours.

thanks for your work! this is excellent and a much needed tool.

woah. that video you posted is insane. what’s going on when he hits the loop points and it goes nuts? like with the vocal sample – it’s clearly spanned across a slower division when he’s just triggering, but the loop points seem to make it comb through way way faster. any way to recreate that glitching in re:mix? is @r__o the ro of the previous forum? maybe he’d be willing to help a new member understand?

also, hope the donation helped a bit with lunch after picking up your computer. will continue to donate through my usage of re:mix. first live show with it on Thursday!

thx!

yeah, what’s going on is if u hold the last pad in a row, then press the first, it’ll loop the last step. holding any pad in a row then pressing the first will have the same behavior, just different loop points.

awesome. will give it a try when I get back home. any ideas about the waveform half loading?

Can u post a screenshot of what it looks like?
