I’ll just have to try it then. Looks like it really will get me one step closer to liberating my violin from the pedal board.

It will liberate your violin from the pedal board, as well as many earthly acoustic constraints!

Also, I’m sorry that I spoke of a footswitch as if you weren’t already aware of this function - I read your message initially but couldn’t reply right away. By the time I got back to you, I remembered your question but had forgotten some of the rest of your message.

No worries.

I’ve been meaning to build a custom foot switch box for my modular case, something much smaller than the SKB Stage 5 that my pedals presently live in.

That’s why I never seriously looked at this module until now. The panel design, and almost everything on the website, just make me tired. Serious cognitive load. It reminds me of someone I used to know who used common English vocabulary and grammar, but whose sentences always seemed to require translation.

The module may be exactly what I’m looking for (plus some stuff I wasn’t that could be useful). It’s a little hard to tell, though!

To Sandrine’s defense, this module has catered to a lot of user requests. The UI is not ideal, but the feature-set is very impressive.

True, the feature creep on this thing has been pretty expansive. I still haven’t used every function on the thing after a year of using it, but I also use it in almost every patch. I mean hell, I used it almost exclusively as a glitchy delay up until a month ago when I finally started making use of the save slots and only now am I really getting into the nitty gritty of using it as a proper sampler. It does a lot, but it does each of its things really well, so you can just pick out a few functions that appeal to you and ignore the rest. Helps to make it less overwhelming.

After I posted that, I read the “Complete Idiot’s Guide” and got a better idea of what it can do and how it works.

It’s very modal in its feature set, unlike the Tyme Sefari which feels sort of patch programmable by comparison. But then it also has several features TS doesn’t, like the slicing.

Ultimately I decided to go with the ER-301 and roll with whatever features I need for the patch at hand.
