are there any good reference sources out there for serge modules and functionalities ? seeking inspiration !

the Gold/Johansen/LaPalma stuff is…gold (johansen/lapalma):

two minute response time, not too shabby

You can also look on the CGS page of sdiy for schematics / circuit descriptions of the Serge circuits offered by CGS (a good amount of them).

This is a pretty great intro to some core modules:

Carbon111’s own content is quite helpful, too. He’s long been a great citizen of the “synthesizer Internet,” and I rather miss his presence, these days.

okay that’s enough from me now, sorry for momentarily ‘hijacking’

Just about finished with my 3rd panel - Loudest Warning paperface layout, built by me. Lots of fun to build - thank goodness for some learned friends to help with some of the funkier mods/calibration!

Little almost-finished-calibration vid:

Interesting choices! Can you explain a bit what’s going on with that min/max function? Built in crossfader?

I’ve ordered the homebuilt 73-75 kit and wondering about a case. Anyone here who’s built one, what did you go for?

Min Max - currently gives you the min or max for each of the attenuated inputs to the mixer on channels a/b. Still deciding as to whether the mix out will also be hot wired in… (each input has a Fonik attenuverting Chicklet, which feeds into the CGS81 mixer).
The Xfader will either take the mix out from each channel, or you can ‘Inject’ a signal from somewhere else.

The 3TG is intended to have one TG as a clock source for my system, with the other 2 as regular modulation sources, each with Cycle In jacks (where the TG will cycle when a gate received).

Does that help?

I put the one I built in Hammond boats, and secured with cheeks from Ross Lamond. I’ve just received my cheeks modelled on the 4 boat option earlier in this thread (huzzah!), so will have a pair of angle cheeks available shortly if you’re interested:

(Sorry for the crappy pic)

That’s a cool way to merge those function blocks, I can see many undulating feedback possibilities.

That’s what I hoping for…! Taken a while to get born, but will excited to case it up this weekend with the other panels

oh, maybe! depending on the dimensions of them. also, where did you source CA3080/CA3086 chips?

Edit: thonk has the CA3080 it seems

Yeah, I bought a stash years ago when I built my first load of Serge, so that was a straight forward part of the BOM

Think Phil Julian is going to us in touch separately if you want more cheek details

I did 2 inch Bud Box enclosures (AC-1416) and mounted phono jacks for the spring. I was gonna get fancy, but wound up just bolting the two boxes together as a big slab.

What’s included with those kits? Is it just panels / PCBs (I assume), or do they include components too?
