That’s fucking metal

i’m into it - that is a loaner actually (tip of the cap to @mattlowery) - and mainly its put to use as i can’t fire up either of my sunns in my apartment.

it was sort of a toss up between that and iridium but i’m 100% a fan of the greer soma pre, and i can’t imagine i would put the amp modeling to use otherwise. the stereo mic thing is a little wonky to get set up in a way that doesn’t sound weird to me in a stereo field, so right now i just have it set up as two discrete 12" jensens and then panning those somewhat at the mixer for a stereo fender deluxe/brownface vibe. works for me!

How do you like that Holdsworth guitar? I’ve been eyeing that for a while. Does the chambered body have an resemblance to a semi-hollow or not even close?

I’m currently considering Cooper FX Arcade with Generation Loss and Grain cards for some lofi/granular explorations. Anybody using setup similar to this?

For anyone using the Strymon Iridium (or something like it), do you route its outputs into an interface when recording? I ask because I’m curious about adding layers of ADC / DAC conversion to the signal chain.

I love arcades! I think Tom’s DSP is really special.

@jkbrogan I do, straight into a MOTU ULTRALITE mk4.

Not strymon iridium (yet? :p) but I plug my pedalboard directly in my audio interface. As soon as you use DSP pedal you already have layers of ADC DAC anyway.

This is exactly how I’m using the Strymon Iridium. Still early days (only had it for a few weeks), but I’m super-happy with it for recording so far. If you have specific questions or you want some audio samples, just let me know

Sunday questions…
Is anyone using midi guitar 2 the software from jam origins?

I am considering it and would love any observations, experiences.

I got my Arcade and cards right before I jumped into modular so I haven’t spent a whole lot of time with it yet, but I can tell you that it sounds superb and the cards are awesome.

I have recently gotten Arcades, with the synth and grain cards. The synth card has not really been in the pedal much, the grain card is great and as soon as I get the midi cable I am thinking it will be awesome. Much like having a clouds for guitar - very nice. I am very happy with it - if it was just that in a pedal it would make it worth it for me.

Moved my studio into a bigger room and so finally have enough space to set up my guitar stuff again. Very happy to have all my amps out of the closet.

Piles of pedals under the sheets, mostly DIY jobs. Hiwatt is a 73 DR103 with matching cab. Sadly the grille cloth was wrecked so it temporarily has some rubbish replacement until I find some decent source for the right stuff.

that’s a beautiful EGC guitar

Haha yeah, living the alt rock dream.
Very rarely get to turn the Hiwatt up to an interesting volume any more. Tokyo apartments aren’t exactly renowned for their robust soundproofing.

Greetings fellow Hiwatt enthusiast!

Mine’s a '79… between my grillcloth and your tolex we have a complete cab!
