+1. That’s where I sell most guitar stuff (pretty much all I use that forum for really :grimacing:)

You can get some low ball offers, but most of them over there are fair and easy to deal with (not had a bad experience yet buying or selling).

Likewise done hundreds of transactions on there and never had issues

Couple changes and some great finds- I decided that if I’m gonna be playing guitar in my band, I should really be doing stuff with it to justify the instrument in pop band. If the pedals don’t give it away, my influences for this layout are Corgan, Emma Ruth Rundle, Chelsea Wolfe, Ed O’Brien and Jenn Wasner. M9 comes first, and is a noise gate, compressor, and looper.

how do u like the dml? been considering it for a few weeks as my first guitar pedal, does it seem versatile/good on its own or with just a fuzz? seems like we’ve got similar musical interests… :slight_smile:

It’s extremely versatile! rn i have it set as a chorus and then I can turn uo feedback for a weird digital flanger. Mostly I’m keeping it as a weirdo mod pedal but ofc it’s a very nice modulated delay~

If you’re getting a fuzz to pair w/ it, I think an op amp or russian muff with this in front would be a great start.

How do you like the Model feT?

It’s brilliant- The Quilter preamps are good but they don’t get within a mile of how the feT sounds, clean or driven.

If you use one as a preamp i recommend putting delays and reverbs after tho, they get really overdriven even when gain’s only halfway up.

Hi guitarplayers!

I feel the GAS setting in for a Submarine Pro pick-up and was interested to see if anyone on lines has used one. For those unfamiliar with it it’s basically an extra two-channel pickup that allows you to send each string to either A or B which allows for different processing of for example bass and treble strings. Combined with the signal from your original pick-ups it means you could do quite a lot at the same time (three channels). A ā€œJohn Martyn 2.0ā€-setup.

My mind is sort of overheating with ideas of what do with the bass, while fingerpicking regularly, and swelling in pads underneath. :upside_down_face:

No affiliation, but it feels like I’ve had ads from this company popping up in social media for a year or so. There are a few different films on their youtube channel.

Just curious if anyone has tried. (… or if it really works. Might not be problem-free etc).

(Update: Just emailed them to ask how effective their string separation is, or if you get leakage etc.

have done some short term swaps for some mics and a cab (cab is from this local maker, dusky). mics are the AT4047 (a loose interpretation on a FET 47) and a Peluso R14 (modern ribbon, has a bit more bass response than the standard ones).

I’m using it with my AC30, and I’ve been getting some really cool stuff out of my guitars (strat HSS and strat retrofitted with p-90s in it) as well my SG short-scale bass.

If you’ve never tried out a 15" speaker on guitar, I definitely recommend trying it if you get a chance! I really love the way it sounds for like grungy stuff, as well as for droning on low a and e. Spring reverb also sounds super cool through it.

I’m pretty sure I’m going to get the maker to make me one of these. Apparently the speaker only comes in 8 ohms, which is fine for the AC30 in external cab mode, but the extension cab mode (the one that keeps the combo 2x12 speakers on) is only good for a 16ohm load. I found this weber z-matcher thing last night. Does anyone have experience with one of those? Consider one so I can use it with the extension mode.

Has anyone worked thorough Leavitts ā€˜A Modern Method for Guitar’ and has it been useful to you?

I’ve made a start, it’s really the first time I’ve approached music in a formal/technique way…it’s a whole new world! Being able to sight read now feels very ā€˜proper’

used it for stepping up my sightreading game. it is lots of work but very useful

I used to teach using Leavitt’s books. Never had a student get through the second book. Personally, those books upped my game when I was hustling gigs all the time. I recommend them to every guitarist looking to work on sight reading for sure.

Well I’m on page 20 of book 1, it feels like a long road ahead I can’t imagine what the end of book 2 will be like. I got to it from being interested in jazz it was recommended as a solid base to work from.

I love the Method!

It took me 1.5 years to ā€œget throughā€ Volume 1. I’m now on page 25 of Volume 2. In truth you don’t really get through these books - you’ll find yourself going back to look at earlier material as newer material gives you more understanding. I still go back to Volume 1.

I definitely recommend watching the accompanying video series for the first volume - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IoFz6TGy5c&list=PLx1YuLLmpyHvTwAGXZm52kdOClq-TRb6-. It definitely clears up many potential areas of confusion. Starting with the rest stroke is key - I was halfway through Vol. 1 before I realized the rest stroke should be used always even with 8th and 16th notes.

After Vol. 1 - Leavitt’s Melodic Rhythms and Classical Studies books are great for checking weak points and consolidating the things you’ve learned.
