Nice album. You really have your own style; that’s rare. Drummer’s really good too.

Nice. What do you tend to sequence with the two EHX 8-steps?

It’s kind of obscured in the picture but I have a multi effect called The Worm that I use with the step sequencers, specifically for no input mixing.

I also use them with my Moog filter pedal and sometimes to modulate a delay to get interesting octave effects.

Are you a Jonny Greenwood fan by any chance?

Yep! Btw I sold the Starcaster a while ago and switched to a MJT Jazzmaster.

The arrival of my new Jazzmaster motivated me to finally get my pedal-board sorted out. Really enjoying this looping setup (no amp just monitoring+recording via the cassette deck).

Can I ask what’s recommended for powering a number of pedals? I’m at the point where I plug and unplug certain pedals as I’ve run out of power supplies. Is it worth investing in a multiple power supply or can I get by say daisy chaining.

Got Jazzmaster envy btw. I’m on the lookout for a lefty

Check out pedal power supplies, I’ve used the Voodoo Lab ones before with good results. Strymon makes a few that are pretty highly regarded as well.

I have this one:
https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/1SpotProCS7--truetone-1-spot-pro-cs7-7-output-isolated-guitar-pedal-power-supply
It works well, has a few variety of voltage sources. I did some research when I bought it and it seemed to be the best one for the money with the most options.

And… to stoke your Jazzmaster envy, let me show you mine… LOL.

I put it together from parts: MJT body finished in Nitro, Curtis Novak Pickups, neck is a random neck I found on eBay, finished the headstock to match the body. I’m super happy with it. Its definitely my favorite guitar ever.

Thanks, I’ll check out the advice re power

I need to get organised, although I do like scrabbling around on the floor. On the first floor is Ciat Lonbarde world. I’ve had this guitar for years a MIM Strat and never used it but now really enjoying it as a sound source.

How do you like the Csidman pedal?

The Strymon stuff, though a bit pricey, is really good.

I think my favourite tuning I recorded something with was DFGgAA

I like it and I use it a lot. It’s kind of difficult to recommend though. When I got it I expected to be able to dial in the “glitchiness” but what you can only really control is the probability for it to glitch out completely, so it’s kind of hard to use it subtly.

What I use it most for is cranking the feedback and glitch probability up to max to create drones, not even using an input.

I’m getting loads out of my Stratocaster at the moment learning some jazz styles but I’ve always been really drawn towards semi hollow style guitars…I kind of ended up with my MIM Strat through circumstance rather than choice.

I’d be interested in hearing anyone’s opinions on mid priced models and make’s. Oh and I’m left handed so it’s a lot of hunting around.

I’ve been looking at e.g. Ibanez Artcore 93, Tokai 73, Hastrom HL550

Nice! Lake Placid Blue? I’ve been thinking about getting an MJT body for mine. How do you like it? If you don’t mind me asking, what specs did you order? Any issues fitting the neck? I have a CIJ and I’m hoping there won’t be any issues with the neck pocket. Thanks for your time!

You need one of each don’t you  . I play a hollowbody at home and feel the need for stratocaster. I will probably look for some 70/80s Japanese lawsuit-model. And it might be a possibility for you too. A friend of mine bought a really nice Aria Pro (Matsumoku-factory) 335-model some years ago. There are a lot of different Japanese makers/brands to look out for - many made in the same factories etc. Greco, Tokai etc. I’m no expert, but Google and see!

The Japan-made Fender Squire P-bass (JV) that I bought some year ago is absolutely great and I didn’t have to pay much for it.

PS. Don’t forget about flatwound-strings and rolling-off the tone-control. It has a lot to do with the jazzy sound as well.

a few of my jazz guitar friends have various D’Angelico models (one of them is a lefty too). my first experience with them was trying them out in a shop, but once i tried the ones owned by friends with proper setups and care going into how they play, i thought they were some of the best guitars in that style for the price. i’d consider getting one myself if i could justify more than two guitars in the space i have

If you’re talking new or recent model anyhow, add Godin to your list. Very nice guitars. IMHO better than those others unless you’re talking an 80s MIJ Tokai or Ibanez.

I have a Guild Starfire iii that I love…
