Howdy, this is my current rack. Just ordered a grid and looking to trim down quite a bit. Trying to see what I get the most usage out of, but it’s hard to let go of stuff!

What are you using for sound generation. Have you been using the tetragrid?

Most sounds from Swoop or JF at the moment, or some external stuff. Just hooked up my i2c cables, so looking forward to getting some milage from W/ as well.

I use Tetra a bit here and there. It can sometimes be a bit eager and not quite provide accurate triggers for stuff that demands that (TT and Tree can sometimes glitch out when they are being triggered from Tetra).

I really want to hear the Tetragrid / Just Friends pairing in action if you have time to make a short example for us.

Here is kind of an example from today’s chaos. Five of Tetra’s out to JF’s trig (all but 5n) and Just Play through i2c, the last one to one of Swoop’s trigs. I found a sweet spot with the magnets where the entire thing stalled once in a while, which was nice. Maybe not the cleanest example, but.

I’ve had it since mid-last year - it’s become the main melodic and rhythmic hub for my electronic musical adventures. As soon as it arrived I basically stopped using my keystep pro. Yesterday I added a Poly 2 to my case, so it eliminated a lot of cable runs and added the possibility of polyphony!

Great! The Poly 2 opens things up indeed. Bet you’ll have a lot of fun with that.

I use the T1 in a euro setup too. Midi out one goes to a Mutant Brain for 8x trigger plus 4x CV&gate. Midi out two goes to the 8-voice Knobula Poly Cinematic module via a trs patch cable.

Knobula Poly is very nice, compact and well thought out. Though I like the sound of the Qu-bit Chord v2 a bit better.

Yeah it’s great! My style of using tends to change depending on if it’s a live thing or me just recording. For a looooong time I stayed away from the one-shot modes as well as changing the default monitoring options, I am currently finding lots of gold exploring these simple changes in approach. If you’re in stalemate at the moment check out these techniques I wrote on a while back, it might spark something

Maybe 6 months into modular, I used to spend so much time in my studio detached from the house, but now I’m doing more and more exploring with this setup in the lounge/bedroom/anywhere. The other night my gf spent an hour or two drawing and creating on her iPad pro, while I played away next to her.

Thanks so much! I’ll definitely check those links out! It’s funny, I was playing around with the monitoring options pretty much from day one. It’s tough to remember all the button combos for everything though. But enjoyment of it inspires me to keep working at it (and to wait for the new firmware update, haha).
