Downsized from my 12u into a 7u so that I can perform in Mongolia as part of an arts and environmental tour in a month! (Info those interested here: https://www.gofundme.com/mongolian-arts-and-environment-tour)

I’ve performed with this new case twice so far and I love it. I can still get a lot of sound out of it, and I’m enjoying the sense of focus, streamline and minimalism. Morphagene plus tape loops is a great way to bring variety to sounds throughout a one hour set. On the road I will replace the Morphagene with an Erbe Verb and keep the BAM at home.

Also sold my old case and some modules to buy a new camera for the trip, so here, enjoy this beauty shot:

Thanks for that. I’ll spend more time with it for sure.

Now to get some 1u modules…

My modular as of this Friday - a little performance I did at a gallery space in Kriens, Switzerland. Had a few dozen people watching me nervously patch that evening, they were quite curious about the strange sounds I was making.

The modular case is something I designed and built, ten Trogotronic bus boards, 168hp x 5 rows. It’s been going through a lot of churn recently. I tend to buy and sell modules second-hand here in CH. The Prophet 6 is perhaps my favorite synth, I often set up a pattern progression (using Teletype, Metropolis, and/or Rene 2), and then improvise on top with lead or pads.

All patched up for my first solo live set ever. The DFAM will be left at home, it is quite new addition and I’m not that familiar with it yet so I don’t want to complicate things too much. I’m pretty much done preparing the set, I just need to practice more to keep things moving smoothly as I’ve tried to keep plenty of room for live arranging and improvisation. The patch needs to be tidied up a bit and the case needs some blank panels. I’m super nervous and excited at the same time.

What is that 1u strip?

it’s actually less of a 1u and more of a 4hp—just a 4ms row power mounted to a wooden block

Woah, way cool. I don’t recognize that case though, did you move the power into another unit?

That’s absolutely 20 characters of gorgeous.

i do frequently, in fact—had a smaller enclosure printed for a travel setup and rigged the power up so it can lift right out and swap between the two! the prototype houses a recording-focused variant, and lives happily in my studio—i’ll get a second supply eventually, but i’ll need to find the time to cut a comparably-beautiful block to mount it on first!

thank you!

Your verbos system is beautiful and I love it.

Looks quite beautiful with all the white cables.

[But personally, I just can’t patch without stackcables… I wish they released different color stackcables: I would probably replace all of them if I were given that choice. when they were about to release the new ones (the super long purple, and the super short green) there was some discussion of the color scheme, and I was saying that a grayscale set would have been awesome. The whole set of stackcables where each length is just a shade darker (or lighter) than the other. That would be amazing!]

Regardless: the picture is lovely, and the case looks great!
