:raised_hands: Looks amazing. Did you just paint the 1U?

yea just taped it off and spray painted the panels. it kinda looks a bit janky. but it’ll work until someone makes a legit black panel for them.

This is the current state of my modular, sadly it also shows the current state of my wallpaper.

kind of feeling this supercollider → eurorack briefcase workflow tbh

Good post.

How are you using the Panharmonium? It’s one of those modules I want to try, but it doesn’t have an obvious application beyond being a super dope sounding toy or like resynthesizing samples and what not.

I’m still kind of working out what Panharmonium can do, and finding its limitations (and possible bugs) but so far it seems to work as a kind of fancy shimmer reverb, harmonizer, note freezer kind of thing.

In the two recordings I’ve made with it so far, I ran an oscillator into it, and then fed its output back into the expo FM or phase modulation input of that oscillator.

Thanks for posting that. Seems like a kind “resynthesis frequency crusher”. I’d be curious to hear it in a feedback processing chain or post delay or reverb. Seems like a lot of potential uses to investigate!

Yeah, it’s such a completely unique module that ways of using it need to be discovered.

I kind of feel the same about SMR, except that it’s only new to me rather than new to everybody. And SMR and Panharmonium are kind of interesting together.

Trying some new ideas.

Looks great. Would love to hear some thoughts around the choice of modules, etc. For example, 2 Sport-Modulators. Always intrigued by the tradeoffs of smaller/focused cases.

Is this photo a panorama? The weird perspective distortion on Cold Mac’s knob relative to the rest of the case is hurting my brain

Very excited that I was able to track down all of these.

would you say this system exhibits/affords much timbral diversity? most of the demos I’ve been able to find online are fairly uniform in this respect…

I would say that it definitely lends itself towards what you’ve probably seen. However you can also get some fairly bright tones or sounds with more lightness and song to them, the trick is keeping them there as you deepen the patch. I’d say this is very hard and ultimately not something the system helps you do.

The Mobenthey “manifesto” led me to assume the modules were likely in the way of purposefully ‘unwieldy’—or, at least, designed to stultify assumptions toward instrumental ‘mastery’; an ethos seemingly spread across PB’s work—which is intriguing, to me. However, the homogeneity of timbral complexes and textures from what (admittedly, little) I’ve heard sort of deflates the intrigue a bit. But I could be evaluating variation of such parameters using inappropriate criteria for the system. I still would love to work with them someday anyway. Curious to see how you get on with it!
