To be honest, my skiff is also missing a few things: vca/lpg, much attenuation, more immediate envelopes (unless I want to use JF that way). Most random and modulation I want to try and get out of Teletype. I also have passive modules that I usually use “floating” out of the case to take care of some of that…DPLPG, Quad Atten.

Most of my gear is now boxed and under my bed (I had a GAS problem which I’m totally over, oh yeah, no problems here!) Having just this one skiff out, I’m already much less stressed out.

Getting to know the SWN

I’m really curious about it myself. Thinking of going with either a SWN or Just Friends for multi-oscillator layered goodness.

Really curious about the stand, what is it? Is it steady enough to patch the modular? Btw, I really like the color scheme, beautiful system!

It’s THIS stand. I have 3 of them and been using them for several years now with all kinds of stuff. As long as you get the little rubber things nice and tight it’s definitely solid enough for patching.

I’m really digging the SWN. You can tell a lot of love and thought went into it…keeps surprising me.

Would be really interested to hear some recordings of this! How do you find the Taikos?

Dinky’s has played a part in many recordings over the years. While Akemie’s is an exciting newcomer. As with most of my percussion modules, they both have plenty of modulatable parameters, which makes them fun to use.

Yesterday was Metron’s debut (even though I’ve had it for months), and a return to da riddim. Cursory patching, i.e., without consulting the manual, transported me home.

It’s rare to have my system this naked…

This week’s minimal system for voice, feild recording and tuned feedback! No quantizers, no keys, no sequencers, no problem.

Edit: one of the w/ tapes is filled with with recorded snippets of piano noodlings and feild recordings. But now that I think of it, why not use the ginko mic to grab things besides voice right into w/? The pair is basically a dictaphone in the rack after all.

What is that little microphone module?

Ginko Synthese MIC module

@mateo beat me to it. Not the cleanest, but but good enough for me. It will drive electret mics with an 1/8" ts plug.

Finally got a TXi and TXo integrated into my system, and actually filled the last empty spaces! (Except for the 1U space up top :anguished:)

Homemade 126hp case, been building for almost 2 years now, staying stable here for a while. So much to learn!

Might be fun to add an effect (Chronoblob or Mimeophon, often use Octatrack for simple stuff) or more sound shaping (filter). Usually have more sequencing than I need, but like the different options.

Did you have to make any modifications to get the Teletype and Trilogy (not sure which that is at a distance) modules in there?

The only modification I made was that I moved the power distribution board up about 3 inches to give the I2C backpack on the teletype some clearance. Otherwise the I2C cables wouldn’t have had enough vertical clearance with some components on the power board due to their height.
