Heh, i actually had one but I traded it away. I got some weird joy from it but concluded that it was really best suited for drums and hard percussive stuff. If one comes up for sale 2nd hand i’ll probably grab it and give it another chance.

No more GAS! I hate GAS and this will be my setup all year. GAS is so 2019.

I know, but this year I’ll really try to make it happen

I respect that. I made the mistake of starting with a 4U 104hp case and have been unable to reach what I truly want. So, if I change my professional situation the way I’m shopping for in the next month and a half, I’ll probably be moving in to the 7U territory

I also now realize I took the opportunity to go from respecting your desire to practice restraints to talking about myself which was a goofy practice and a sign of my INTENSE current fatigue. Haha

I’d love trying going smaller but this is somewhat my dream setup. It’s been taking me five years of eurorack module swapping to finally settle with a thought like this so I’ll not jinx it :crossed_fingers:

Head on over to the depth year 2020 thread if you haven’t already. GAS is def 2019.

Kind of messy 6U 90hp compared to lot of clean tables and systems out here, but super happy with this system at the moment. I had a brief spell with 4U 104hp but I really, really wanted a proper oscillator and couldn’t fit one in without sacrificing some of my must-have modules, and now that I have DPO the whole thing is so much more flexible. And Poly 2 is great for expanding with stuff from Octatrack.

Latest iteration. Switched things up for a more planned and composed approach, and to to then perform and improvise with the ideas. Last modules to fill the gaps are a Nebulae V2 and a Triple Sloth.

Current modular set up! I’ve got a black panel for the Mutant Brain but I haven’t swapped it out yet. Excited for the full black and white experience but too lazy to actually do it haha.

I’ve been slowly building this set up for 2 and a half years. This is the biggest it’s been so far. I’m saving up now to expand to the 104HP Intellijel case and add a Marbles and a Mimeophon. No real desire to expand further than that. Or funds to do so haha.

I adore the Mimeophon. So much so I literally run almost anything through it that needs some sort of delay. Ableton, OP-1, OP-Z, you name it. It’s just that fun.

What are your preliminary thoughts on this case, particularly power and construction? Part of me is considering downsizing from my 7U 104hp setup and 120hp total seems like a nice balance of constraints without sacrificing too much (particularly since I want to keep a bunch of larger modules like DPO, Maths, and Rene).

Noticed some noise and was way deep in my own head as I was troubleshooting. I don’t THINK it’s the PSU though, so I guess I can’t say I have any complaints. Solid construction, what you see is what you get basically, so not sure what else to say but that I dig.

Variation on my main system focusing on ambient minimalism:

With a freshly modified and internally mounted Meng Qi Please Exist 2 with an 8hp 1u interfacing panel:

The Intellijel i/o is for stereo send/return, though I wish I could add more gain to the input!
