It’s the Boombox Rex. I can’t say I particularly recommend it, but it holds a charge for quiet a while and is OK for little proof-of-concept operations.

I always said I’d stick with one Eurorack case but I started my second one right before quarantine and it’s already full :flushed:. This system has two main functions: when I play solo it will be a modular groovebox based around marbles. When I play in my punk band it will basically act as a combined mixer / pedalboard. I’ll be running my Minilogue, my iPad and a sample drum pad through the distortion, filter and delay, and adding in some internal modular sounds too of course.

I’ve never seen that input tile on the side of a pulp logic case before. That’s sweet. Which tile does it route to in the case?

Each of the two input jacks on the side go, individually, to one of the two Gain tiles.

How are you finding your Nomad? Specifically, how are you finding the bands? I had one for a week and after trying again and again (varying times of day and antennas) I was reminded of how much the bands have silenced from when I was an active DX’er in the 80s and 90s. I ultimately returned it and now scour the interwebs for shortwave samples to load into the Disting. :frowning:

An unconventional view but I quite like it.

Yeah the bands are dead in my area as well. I expected that when I got it though since I have a hard enough time finding anything interesting around here on SW using my actual radio.

Hello! I am working with this:

Trying to figure out if I want to expand for another voice or two, more robust non-random sequencing, and some other goodies; or downsize heavily to streamline everything and use more of my guitar pedals, maybe add a grid, and so on; or just keep it mostly as-is and just get better at it

I would guess (though it’s a dull answer) that sticking with what you’ve got will give you more pleasure than adding more voices. You could always add the alternative Stages firmware to get another voice if you needed? You might get a lot of pleasure by just picking a handful of modules for a few weeks and really getting to know them. Week 1: Sisters as your voice, Cold Mac, Stages, the VCA and Marbles. Week 2: throw in the Magneto. I once had a rack that looked like yours but downsized. I sure miss all the options though!

You’re definitely right. With all the options available, it becomes pretty easy to do the stuff I know works – at the expense of more interesting experimentation. I’m sure it would be helpful to spend more time with the really deep modules, to try to coax new sounds and modulation out of them.

That’s a nice looking system.

What’s the case?

That white panel 0-Coast looks great!

Just a part of my system, but I just added a custom panel for my Teletype, four TXo, one TXi and an additional input for the connection to my faderbank. I was annoyed by how much work it was to shift these modules around (a whole lot of small panels and all the modules are connected), so I made a combined front panel for all of them. Really happy with how it turned out:

I’m not sure if this would be helpful for anyone (as it is very specific to this module configuration and wasn’t all that hard to make with all the required data being available on github), but if anyone wants the svg I used for cutting it, I’d be happy to share it.

Blimmin 'eck! Is that 4 TXo’s and a TXI?? I didn’t even know you could attach that many to the teletype!

Lovely panel that though, looks to have come out very nicely  can’t wait to share mine on here when I finally get it finished!

Thanks _mark!

It’s a DNGR:Tech case, from a guy in Russia. Amazing case with a eye for detail, you can close it patched, have it open at different angles and it has a dimmable LED light.
Sadly he no longer makes them, as I think they weren’t very profitable. Although he did also start making a 6U case recently, I think.

I’ve just “finished” putting together my first modular rack. And by that I mean I’ve got some modules I know, some I’m learning, and I can get patches that feel adequate to me. We’ll see how long I feel this way haha.

The disting ex is preordered. Here’s a pic of the rack all patched up. Any feedback is always appreciated. Anything I’m missing? Any cool ideas I should try with what I’ve got? Any really good modules that would fit right in here?

If it was me, I would want a way to sequence beside PNW. The Marbles clone Cara would be a great addition - it takes up little space, is modestly priced and functionally laid out nicely.
