Just need a few 1u’s to “finish” the case!

do you have a spring tank mounted inside your 7U case or do you just use your Springray with an external tank? Looks like a very nice setup either way!

It’s a tight fit, but I have a small tank mounted behind the Springray. A larger tank usually sits behind my case.

How do you go about positioning your modules? I’m using only a small system but choice of layout is unnerving. Is it a case of plop them in and see if it feels right?

I realise that I’ll be using Maths and Batumi very heavily so placed those central in each row. But no idea the “best” way to go about arranging the rest.

It’s mostly just trial and error.
I am constantly moving things around in the 7u.

I have another 3U analog eurorack system on modular grid, but the one of the oscillators is still “unknown” so I didn’t include it.

Here’s my new layout, waiting on rack reverb, 1/4" patch bay and deckard expander; that’s a BeatStep Pro and QuNexus hooked up to USB in front of the rack.

is that Deckard’s Dream? how are you liking it?

it’s a lot of fun, but I could really use a manual to figure out touch response etc. I haven’t figured out how to do aftertouch from ableton etc.

love the classic Electrix rack fx!

Surprisingly, they seem to not mind super hot modular voltages (at least when I used a complex osc as vocoder formant)

Nice to see the Electric set.
I also have the three units, but have been contemplating selling them…

Can we talk about that Viking helmet tho?

I hang my patch cables on it. I used to have a really cool 60cm Kamen Rider figure holding cables, but it’s in another room now.

Skiffs arrived today, so system is as I’d like it to be, at last. Next week I may say something different.

very sadly my WarpFactory bit the dust a few years back

not my modular system, but get a load of Martin Gore’s!

just getting started here and i’m loving eurorack! I just finished the little Befaco mixer kit a few days ago, and it completely works! I honestly wasn’t sure what would be happening when I was soldering everything, but it was surprisingly easy! I’m looking to pick up a few more kits and PCBs now… and may try my hand at some of the more basic SMT stuff in the near future. making your own modules, even from a kit, is pretty damn rewarding.

I’d have picked up more modules if my dog hadn’t somehow eaten her way through 1/2 lb of DARK CHOCOLATE while I was at the synth store (patchwerks in Seattle). Suffice to say my dog is better, but my case is also emptier at the moment :stuck_out_tongue:

(obviously i’ll take the dog over most anything, for the record. she’s kind of important).

I’ve seen a ton of people posting shots of it, and all I’ve come away with is “Goddamn, this is so much overkill and most of it will go unused,” and “Hope the module makers made a ton of money from this studio being built out.”

Maybe it’s not overkill and maybe it can easily be used. A little math suggests that there are between 1000 and 1300 modules spread across those walls. If you had Martin Gore’s income/wealth and an abundance of time to explore how and what you want this becomes easily manageable. Take a 104HP skiff and select 8 modules from that collection and mount them in the skiff. Plan on patching this particular configuration for 2 days before you swap 4 of the modules for 4 others. Repeat this every 2 or 3 days and then all of a sudden you have about two years before you’ve worked with all the modules. As a working musician at 56 years old having been involved with music for 44 years, it’s a fair bet that music will continue to be a near daily part of his life. It’s estimated Martin is worth between $65 million and $185 million, if we go with the lower number and the idea that this collection is about 15,000HP costing on the high side about $500,000, this would represent the equivalent of someone earning $50,000 a year spending $350 on their Eurorack setup. Seems pretty smart all-in-all to me.
