Another wise soul who recognizes the power of the DPO / RxMx / FXDf / Control File.

It’s a fairly new addition but loving it so far, still much to explore.

consistently amazed by the glorious sounds you conjure out of this setup.

travel setup + pianodisc midi-controllable steinway (!!!)

Pyramid is a fucking wild machine that took a lot more getting used to than I expected, so this trip was a bit of the machines playing me, but I released a few studies on Bandcamp and now I have tons of piano sounds to work with on my tape projects.

Moving back to the city where the piano resides at the end of the summer, so I look forward to going deeper with it. You can even CC sustain!

Yes, I did also play some Avril 14th thru Pyramid

Shat-noir is actually a really nice yet mild phaser, like most nlc I’m sure it can get wild but it’s lovely at adding some subtle phase to your signal

I really love this setup - compact, considered but so powerful!
You make some lovely music on Insta.

I’m considering swapping out my Varigate 8+ for the Nerdseq. How do you find it? Do you preprogram everything, or ever find yourself jamming/improvising with it?

@gnome666 thanks
@sarmism I like the nerdseq a lot. I can sequence tracks very fast with it. As for jamming I can just to basics; transposing on the fly, bringing parts in and out. But you could connect a keyboard to it and play one of the voices.

Do you get a lot of utility from the Factorum and Crow together? I’ve got a Sol and I love it with Norns, but I’m wondering if tighter integration might not serve me well.

Prism is a world of joy - takes any source and makes it sound boundless and ethereal! I hope you enjoy yours as much as I’m enjoying mine :cowboy_hat_face:

Well, FH-2 serves well for different scenarios, first of all MIDI-CV of course, with computer or with controller. It has MPE, so in some cases I’m using Roli Seaboard to send gestures modulation to modules, filters for example. Also there are things like pattern generators and LFOs inside, but I don’t use it much because it requires a configuration or menu diving.

Crow serves many things, which can differ depending on the patch. I didn’t had much time to learn it well though, but I surely will do, it is powerful little thing.

Ace. That was my feel about the jamming aspect of things. I think that would work well for me. A friend talks of connecting a launchpad for launching patterns which also sounds exciting!

How do you find the Leibniz subsystem? It’s hard to find any good demos or explanations of it, but it seems really interesting!

Can you get control files anymore?

Not sure - they are “Out of Stock” at Control Mod. I read somewhere that they actually sold very few of them, like, less than a hundred if I recall.

When I got my RxMx and FxdF, I reached out to Control to ask about the File. They only ever made 75 and said they didn’t sell well, though I guess they managed to sell out.

I asked if they would consider open sourcing it, but whoever I spoke to said that even open sourcing it wasn’t worth their time, and at any rate it would be up to the designer. Which, @Galapagoose, is that you by any chance? The Control File I did eventually track down was marked as a Whimsical Raps joint on the PCB.

I am guessing it would be a fairly easy circuit to make, since I believe it’s just the 6 dpo and FxdF outs running through DPST switches (maybe wrong switch type) and then the two “hidden” outs of the dpo made accessible to jacks. It’s passive. I considered giving it a go before finding a Control File on Reverb.

Thanks! I’d be happy to do a run if I had the Gerber for the pcb. Or even if I had my hands on the schematics. But to no avail. I desperately want a control file.

Doesn’t get out of my dark studio too often. Figured it called for a photo. I’ve been replacing a bunch of modules and installing some rear vents over the past few weeks. Still waiting on an NTO and Rogan knobs to liven up the Doepfers.

Just finished my old-school Make Noise Shared System. I have a short clip of it on my Instagram.

Have any recordings up?

Have really wanted the chronoblob - haves clouds but can’t work out how to easily to tempo sync delays.
