thanks for the ideas  Ha yes the Call Yer Mum is the perfect kind of absurdity for this

A good deal came up on a Doepfer base case and it led me to trying something new - basically combined all of my small cases into this setup. The top remains a standalone unit, I just reordered the modules for the new setup.

Today I took delivery on a shiny new Cold Mac and that has completed the ensemble. The middle row is now the land of jacks and craziness.

Loops Loops Loops

EDIT: First little composition I’ve put together with this system. A short beat loop coming out of my digitakt recorded onto one Lubadh reel, while the other plays back several layers of shortwave radio signals, then processed by the filterbank. I am really loving the tone of these two paired together. And sending different outputs from the 601 into my Nearness mixer creates some really cool stereo effects.

Pequeño Interruptor in the house.

That’s a neat little idea, hadn’t considered that something like that would exist. Makes total sense though.

Handiest use of 1hp around! I use it as Batumi’s Poti switch and also to switch the Time Wizard’s B outputs between triggers and gates.

Any alternatives to the Interruptor? Seems to be discontinued.

Oh, that’s a bummer. I’ve not run across anything similar in 1hp before but it’s a dead simple module so maybe you could contact a builder to put something similar together for you.

I made myself similar thing for the 4MS Rotating Clock Divider, though 2HP rather than 1:

I just finished my first batch of modular-based recordings, so it seems like a good time to commemorate this version of my system before it goes through the next phase of growth and reorganization.

This is my first post, so I also want to thank everyone for the amazing body of knowledge stored in this forum. I’m still just getting my feet wet, but following along with the discussion here has saved me a lot of time and expense as I figured out how to make this costly little box do its thing.

new drone setup as of tonight:

paired with this skiff i share with my techno rack:

moved the dipole over from my techno rack to see how it can chew up the verbos complex oscillator, replacing a three sisters. er-301 replaces a beloved morphagene… taking a bit of a leap of faith here…

something serge-y, something verbose-y or buchla-y, something new.

I’m using two of my three Interruptors in the exact same way

techno rack. entity percussion is a surprisingly great non-drum voice: punchy bass, 303ish if you push it, sounds great with a mildly resonant 3 sisters. plonk and squid are too much fun. shapeshifter is a blast, and can do just about anything with some work… love it paired with either make noise lpg in the system.

would love suggestions for the last 4 hp. i was thinking about the ssf autodyne compressor.

Not glamorous but maybe a buffered mult like the A-180-3?

thanks for the suggestion! i’ve been looking at the intellijel 1u mult, and would probably rather burn the 1u space, or stick with passive cable connectors.

If you enjoy things a bit grittier, the Noise Engineering Viol Ruina is great for finding new details and timbres in sounds, and then mangling them into something completely different.

First post! Here’s my current rig (for now). At least it will be, once PanMix arrives.

I’ve been playing pretty much only free improv for a few years (entirely different rig for that). I started putting this rack together a few months ago in order to explore more tonal, rhythmic-based music. It’s been super fun!

the idea behind it was to have ‘hands on’ things all in a separate control ‘skiff’ from my main rack (not shown).

Bela Salt is connected to the Madrona Labs Soundplane, so spits out CV.
Percussa SSP is being used for lots of things…
Hermod and Marbles , I love close to hand.

Usually most of the patch cables would be going out from there to the main rack…

But I’ve just released some software for the Percussa, so decided to move it away from the main rack to make a demo video with it , and see how it plays on its own… and its remarkably fun.

this was my first stab (just for IG) - what I thought was fun, was its patch cable free… (*)
SSP is connected via usb midi to Hermod, and audio is USB audio to my phone !
(I could also have connected Bela , and so Soundplane via USB midi)

(*) k, marbles was sending cv… but that wasn’t strictly necessary.

Obviously, my next step is me getting off my butt, and go grab some patch cables… then I’ll move over to cv from Hermod and Salt (for Soundplane) as you are ‘suppose’ to do
