Yeah it’s a FilterFactory. Great filter, midi and cv controllable with a drive section that sounds great on drums and analog synths. They don’t always pop up online, but when they do they are a great value for the money.

The MOFX does look cool though. There is someone on eBay who does mods for it - I think they upgrade connections and also decouple them so you can use the different effects for separate instruments if you wish.

Consolidated my two cases into one and it feels great!

I sold about half my modules earlier this year to focus on a much smaller system. So far I’m really enjoying the limitations.

I think I’m going to replace the Endorphin.es Airstreamer with a DIY TXi and TXn.

That is one beautiful system and case. Where’s the case from?

That’s a very nice and beautiful setup!

How are you liking the horizontal orientation (how many hp is it exactly)?
Did you try a less wide or 6/7U system before as well? If so what made you go for this more horizontal layout?

It’s 84hp and I’m very happy with the size/layout. I previously had a 6U x 84hp case which I liked, but I felt like it had more modules than I could handle. I ended up selling 1 row of that system and keeping what you see above plus some Intellijel utilities. I was tempted to get the 6U x 60hp case that blackhole cases makes, but I felt like that would just encourage me to buy more modules! 6U x 60hp does seem like a sweet spot though. I previously had a Make Noise Skiff and I felt like 104hp was too wide.

You all are making me even more jazzed about my custom Blackhole case that’ll theoretically be finished on Friday. Slowly creeping to a more typical size but some ergonomic concerns just make sense. Blank panels are something I would’ve been horrified by a few years ago. Doh!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this, I’m going through the exact same process at the moment  Coming from 104hp, currently using a palette case which is 4U 62hp which I like a lot, especially because because it allowed me to keep it on my desk which with the larger cases never really worked well. But it’s just a little bit too small.

I’m considering going with either exactly your setup of 4U 84hp or pretty much your alternative setup of 6U ±62hp. Having a bit of a hard time deciding :x
Your 84hp 4U does look very elegant and easy to work with.
It’s a pity there’s no 84hp palette, I would’ve loved to give that a try.

Blackhole offers a 6u50 and 6u60 case. Personally, I really dislike the 1U trend and would rather have a smaller 6U for flexibility. Just throwing that out because they do nice work and compact is a bit harder to come by. I have both and my new one will be 6u78 - which will allow me to sell the 6u50.

Anyway, highly recommend them, whether it’s a custom 4u or something else. I know for me, I found 4u84 just a tough size in that was more limiting than I had wanted. That balance is a fun and impossible thing to chase.

Finally finished up my 4U 62hp percussion case

Steppy, Ears, and Grids for trigger generation; Pam’s for clock and LFOs; Apex (aka 1U Peaks) for envelopes; Kinks, 1U VCA, and Quad Atten for CV manipulation; BIA, Plonk, and 2x Pico Drums for percussion (and occasional bass) sounds; and finally Q-Mix into Stereo Out 1U for panning and mixdown

I was just thinking about doing the same — well, you’ve convinced me.

I went for some blue caps on most pitch related things.
