I’ve heard many say, “Never make a Modular Drum Machine.” So… I tried to hide the fact that I’ve done just that! I can still get a great deal of ambient, noise, experimental sounds out of what I have here; but this case definitely comes alive for rhythmic activities.

Just added the Qu-Bit Surface this evening, and the patch seen here is certainly keeping my ears busy!

still learning the instument so it’s just friends and family, for now

this system replicates my very first/fanny back set up in eurorack: two kastle v1.5 + maker hart s mixer. you can listen here sounds very similar but high high fidelity w a lot more possibilities for transition

diy case? manufacturer?

My main instrument for some time has been oud, but I’ve slowly built up a 6u eurorack system for doing sound design using Turkish makam-based tunings. Having a blast, but after I finish building up a few more NLC and zlob modules this won’t all fit in 6u anymore!

I am studying oud, very much a beginner as a player but I’ve been listening deeply for years. I have a particular fondness for Persian and Andalusian music, but love it all!

I’d love to be able to do microtonal tuning on my eurorack. How are you accomplishing this?

I’m aware of a few modules from Tubutec and Erica. I have an O_c which has some quantizing ability but I’m not sure how to set it right.

Maybe there’s enough interest for a Middle Eastern music thread?!?

A middle eastern thread sounds great! As a eurorack synthesist I collaborate frequently with someone who specializes in that field (oud, ney, tar, duduk, kaval): https://voltmeister.bandcamp.com/album/day

I sadly wouldn’t have anything to contribute (I know nothing about the topic at all), but for that very reason, I’m extremely interested and would love to read along and learn.
