Remember when I accidentally deleted the audio recording and we had to do the first half over again?🤦:joy: Thank you so so much for this. I’m happy we got to share our ideas and pretty much agree on everything. Very very very inspiring. Thank you:pray::fire::pray::fire::pray:

@rjonline00 lil pup is such an intriguing random sequencer, ty!

curious how do i get started w dial? i can’t seem to figure out how to map specific params.

for example how would i use the triggers to cross modulate the delay times in echo? etc etc etc

Thank you! So for smartphones to modulate a parameter like echo’s delay time, you want to first map that parameter to either [vol] or [env]. After that, match the text for one of dials pink sends to the receiver controlling the mapping. Then set the dial send trigger value to 1 and play a midi note thru the chain. You should then see some knobs moving!

thanks i’ll give that a try!

I bought these devices some time back but for whatever reason (probably laziness) I couldn’t figure out how to use them effectively… until this past week when everything clicked and oh my god it’s full of stars

The ability to wreak (semicontrollable) havok across multiple lanes and multiple devices is wonderful. This is so clever! (FUN THING TO DO: put the rotating rhythm generator from CV Tools in front of Dial & let shit go haywire)

Yess! Glad you’re getting that hang of them. It’s really cool to hear about first reactions v when ā€œit clicksā€. Super inspiring:)

Love that CV tools idea. I also like to use dial as a clock divider for those generated sequences that aren’t necessarily 4/4

Ah, that’s a great idea! I’ll try that.

Also, if I could be so bold as to submit a feature request: it would be neat to have the option to play note sequences into ring steps like you can for passcode.

Thanks so much for these devices – they’re opening up Live in a totally new way for me!

Love Smartphones but still pretty confused by it. Not free at stream time so don’t want to occupy a spot if it’s limited. Will this be recorded?

These devices look so cool @rjonline00 ! I’m going to dig deeper into this to understand better how to use them. Did a little session with lilpup last week and it was very inspiring.
Watching @edison going wild with this on IG totally blows my mindāļø

Wasn’t able to cath the stream last night. Hope a recording will be available later!

The program director(?) said it would be posted, eventually, on https://artscienceconnect.gc.cuny.edu/#events

been peaking at this for a while, feeling intrigued by the amazing results i’m hearing, but definitely mind boggled. just watched the stream from october and it all makes sense now! damn such a powerful package! going to try out the free versions for now at get a bit more familiar, but have a feeling the full pack is going to be a must have.

i have a few m4l devices by yehezkel raz and i can think of some very cool crossovers. especially thinking of his envelope follower peaks, which takes audio input and outputs a bang whenever a set threshold is passed. going to try and see if i can implement text into it, and make a smartphone patch that plays a long with both fader movement and live percussion : )
