I’ve got sketches and ideas, but the deadline is whats going to force me to finish. I’ve had a lot of projects this fall, so time has been hard to carve out.

Unfortunately, I think I can’t make it… started too late and then had to go back to Belgium for a medical thing(nothing bad) and Thursday, I fly back to Indonesia. So, a time problem.

Got a nice sounding triphoptastic beat going. STO and rings with bass and melody still to be added. Then post rock guitars over the top. Job jobbed. :crossed_fingers:

OK, I think I may be done with my track. This is the sound of cellular automata derived MIDI generated by Wolfram Tones, then brought into Live for sound design and mixing, after a bit of reharmonization in Synfire. Not only is it derived from cellular automata, it’s also cellular in the sense that the “cells” are interchangeable harmonically. So, a score of this piece could potentially be performed in the style of Terry Riley’s “In C” (something I hope to try someday).

Now, to move on to the artwork…

I want to use photos of a landscape taken from the same position at both winter and summer solstice, cropped to show the contrast. I’m hampered in this goal by the fact that our part of California doesn’t snow in the winter.

I’m sure there’s a good chance that many of you who live in more seasonally extreme climes might have photos you’d be willing to share with me for this purpose? Ideally they’d be from summer and winter, taken from the same vantage point, perspective, and focal length, and portraying a landscape, but anything close might work.

@tehn and @kelli_cain I wonder if you might have some photos like this?

I can use stock photography for this if necessary, but would rather use photos that had some personal connection.

Ran into probs today. (Translation: forgot to make sure everything was in tune!!).

I put our Christmas tree up today, so wife + jnr are decorating it tomorrow, which gives me a couple of hours to flesh out what I have.

Yeah, I was undecided about the human. His surfboard makes a diagonal line, was the thought, but “who is that guy?” Is distracting, so I’ll do another without him.
